Ok guys the Dcomo SO-01c (japanese xperia) has been successfuly unlocked and working on the U.S 3G network
so you dont have to wait for SE USA or Rogers no more

the bands it uses are

GSM/GPRS/Edge 850/900/1800/1900
UMTS/HSPA bands 1/2/5/6
which is equivalent to 2100/1900/850/800

possibly WCDMA for verizon will work (correct me if i am wrong) which is a big positive on this japanese version , another positive is being available in three colors.
blue
pink
silver

the phone comes with a 16gb memory card

i ordered the pink color for someone and i will order a silver one for myself

so you dont have to wait for SE USA or Rogers no more

i am so glad that this has worked after so many people have doubted that it would work and been told not to waste my money.

i dont want to waste your time explaining my story on how i got the courage to risk trying one and how i found out it will work, but if you want to know i will gladly answer ur questions.

i found a japanese seller that happened to know some english and willing to help and luckily he had an ebay account.

he sold me the phone for $770 including superfast shipping. he said he could sell it to me for $720 on paypal but i chose ebay since it was my first time.
if you can find other sellers good luck . the phone at docomo is around $600 without shipping

i got called by FCC to fill a form and send it to them to be able to get cleared by customs which i did.

when i got the phone all i did was unlock it using ezSEMC and purchased 10 credits from a provider and took about 1 minute to unlock.
http://www.2shared.com/document/F9cAO3Z5/xperia_arc_unlock_instructions.html

it can also be unlocked via entering unlock code provided by cellunlocker.net($8) or other different sites
all you have to do is flash the LT15i rom or the Lt15a rom and you will be able to get the unlock code screen

user morita0107 has unlocked it by entering an unlock code after flashing the LT15 rom on it(same way as x10)

3G popped the moment i put the APN settings which i got help from nimche who has been a great deal of help and support. He has also uploaded the rom for the LT15a which i will flash later on.
download LT15a rom from here (thanks Nimche)

APN AT&T 3G settings provided by Nimche(show him thanks)

thank u NIMCHE and also

shutterpark
ferraripassion
morita0107

feel free to ask any questions . (Nimche can also answer if i get busy)

i have an ebay invoice up for grabs if anyone wants it for the black color
and i can contact the seller to prepare one for you if you want silver or pink

i have flashed the device with the LT15a rom and everything is working fine, even the Docomo logo in the begining dissappeared

Nice, why I can't see you in IM? You are hiding.... Its nice. So decided to get Midnight blue?
Since I was forced into Midnight blue but now every time I look at my phone I want to die. It is very nice. Clean and wonderful.

im not sure what t-mobile uses i will check tonight and update if 3G works on tmobile

i guess nimche has answered

switching to att might work since tmobile might dissapear anyway

You'll need 1700 mhz to get 3G on Tmobile, which the Arc doesn't have. If you can live with edge only on Tmo then no prob. No manufacturer supports AWS (1700 mhz) unless it's a Tmo US phone.

WCDMA actually refers to GSM band 850/1900 (I think those are the frequencies), regardless it is a GSM distinction not what you think of in the US as CDMA. So no, it won't work on Verizon. Even if it was a CDMA device you'd still have to get VzW to allow it's ESN on their network and that's not easy, not saying it's impossible, just difficult.

well this phone in japan is not even used with sim card. Docomo uses cdma .
but i connot confirm the verizon thing.

i have tried a tmobile sim and it is only working on Edge, but the speed is OK.

This is fantastic news.

However... just one question remains for me:

Bootloader. Are you carrier-locked or free as the air we breathe?

i can't confirm this now , all i have done is network unlocked it and it is working on the AT&T 3G.

now i am flashing the LT15a rom that nimche has uploaded.

    ok guys
print this form and handwrite the info following the instuctions in the photo

    hey guys ,

happy you got it , i just contacted the guy from india for credits and he is now saying $50. I told him i got it before for 30 and he says i dont keep record . let me know if u guys get i deal , im gonna start unlocking when i get home . it shouldnt take a minute, and dont forget to show us your phones pictures with the 3G so we can celebrate.

there is a way to get the unlock code screen as confirmed by user Morita0107, by simply flashing the LT15i rom or LT15a. but even if we get the unlock code screen , i dont think there are unlock code providers that are quick.

i contacted Morita0107 but he hasnt responded as i asked him where you got the code from.
i paid once for this website
    http://Simlock24.pl
    http://Sim-Unlock.net

and this is what they shocked me with after i paid $50

on our website is the information:
"Time to wait for unlock code for Sony-Ericsson phones from any network is 7 to 14 working days."

i told them to cancel the order and found ezSEMC later on that day.

im angry with the 20 dollar increase , but im going with it and buying its ease and simplicity. after all im paying $50 for gas why cant i pay for my pleasure with the arc. lol

i hope this thing works for rogers xperia or else they r gonna have to wait for some other way.

    dont forget ur pictures

    Guys

PM me and i will give you the item number depending on the color you want. The seller doesnt usually sell these , so he will make invoices special for us.

searching on ebay will not get u anywhere

after you get the item number , you can ask for paypal only if you prefer .
