FELT BUTTER PROJECT!! thanks to quarx

first of all big thanks to QUARX2K
the new nightly is super snappy and smooth...felt butter project..and my phone nvr felt so quick and snappy before..
application opening time is almost minimized to half or 3/4th less if compared to ICS.
launcher never felt so smooth.
UI ,so simplified
TRANSITIONS r awesome
new widgets like message widgets,my lib,ear
lag almost VANISHED!! in almost all apps excluding google play music,default gallery

usb tethring
google now (force close)

JB IS REALLY A BREAKTHROUG IN HISTORY OF ANDROID! and further devlopment of JB defy roms will result into a MASTER PIECE!! :victory:

Jellybean Camera app now is integrated with Gallery.

and from the quarx build, there's Gallery2.apk which named com.android.gallery3d
and from GoogleApps, it is GalleryGoogle.apk which named com.google.android.gallery3d

which one should i delete?
from quarx, or from google apps?

those two are not identical in filesize.
but, identical in app version.

gb version give you this:
-4 vsel-mhz frequences for processor speed.
-better battery usage, you can flash hudson kernel (i don't be sure yet)
-better performance (in older CM9 i saw this but in the new is the same for me)

i feel that the last cm9 froyo works better in red lense than gb version. but i don't know if this happens on cm10

you just have to try it, don't be afraid :good:

i create some workaround, see attachment.

PREVIOUS ZIP CONTAINS MISSING SCRIPT..

i forgot to add
set_perm(0, 0, 06755, "/system/xbin/su");
symlink("/system/xbin/su");

now ROOT WORKAROUND should works.

then wipe cache
then wipe dalvik cache after that..

this zip also remove double gallery and double camera app after you guys install Google Apps.


PS:
this workaround only used on today's nightly,
maybe next build quarx will fix it.

You sure about that? I tested it, wipe all and stuff, and it feels just like ICS, sure, the phone app now works way better and so does swyping, but the things that used to lag, still lags, apex compared to the first alpha is worst, and yeah, config opens way faster, but that config app is the AOSP one, and not the one from CM10, maybe I did something wrong, but I don't feel much better than ICS.

Thanks marhensa... I see the SU app now but still cannot install root explorer or Ti Backup, could uit be a busybox thing?

The button backlights are temperamental in the 140712 build... not a biggie, just noting it.

I told you guys, with time and more things functional, the overall speed it's going to be more or less like ics. This primary test builds aren't the way that JB it's going to be on defy. So, wait for more stable and complete build to make statements about the speed of the JB on defy.
