There are lot of Quarx support messages flooding in., Come On Defyiants., ;)

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2007679

This contest will run from November 22, until next Thursday, November 29. Due to previous difficulties we’ve encountered when mailing internationally, this contest will be open to US residents (or those with proxy US shipping addresses) only. The winning entry will be selected by myself and the rest of the XDA Administration team. We will be looking at which posts receive the most “thanks,” but that is certainly not the only criteria for winning. Finally, since each member can only have one “favorite” developer, each community member is allowed at most one entry. Those with multiple entries will be immediately disqualified.

EXT4 - in my opinion - causes the trouble to make a lot of effort to try any of the new build.
When going back to CM7 for example - you have to restore SBF in order to restore EXT3.
Is there any way to have EXT3 or some ZIP that will format to EXT3?

The thing is that whether I want to try any of Quarx NEWest ROM and I will want to go back to CM7 or any other ROM - I have to do factory reset with SBF and stuff - this takes time and takes all the fun...

Thanks in advance for the answer.
You can find Format ~xxx~ to ext3 in Bootmenu - Tools - Format...

And you don't have to format to ext4 to use CM10, so why not just stick with ext3 and save yourself the trouble? I'm on ext4 and I must say I can't notice any difference in performance...

i formatted data and cache as ext4 and I noticed that wipe data/factory reset command takes longer now, especially when formatting /cache.. is that because of the new filesystem? or if I run wipe data/factory reset /data and /cache are reverted to ext3?

is there a definite way to be 100% sure about which filesystem is present in /data and /cache? if i correctly understood both mount command and fstab content are not fully reliable.. thanks!

Guys, can you are please test the new battd http://quarx2k.ru/battd
On defy/defy+, stock/non-stock batteries. I think it should work correct for any variants.
But not sure, Thanks:)
quarx you need both battd from bin and battd.so from lib to match in order to get full battery performance,ive done a gb greenlense port from defy plus using battd fix but poor life on it so then i copied both these files from stock froyo and i got even better performance than stock rom(also less battery drain issues)

Installed.
After restart the battery went from 17 to 19%. Will report after a full charge.

Sent from my MB526 using xda app-developers app
... same for me, 75% went up to 79%. Didn't charge >90%, let's see if it reaches 100% now ;).

I'm on build 20121118, mb525, green lense.

[Update:]
in logcat found:
I/BATTD ( 1242): SBCM GLUE: File /data/tmp/battd/897F0BF909005020.txt cannot be created
I/BATTD ( 1242): SBCM GLUE: File /data/tmp/battd/897F0BF909005020.txt cannot be created

in /data there was no tmp, so a made it and put a symlink from /data/battd into it.

then:
I/BATTD ( 1242): SBCM GLUE: File /data/tmp/battd/897F0BF909005020.txt first created

content is:
remaining battery capacity = 0 %
charge cycle counter = 0 cycles
charge cycle counter % = 0
timestamp = 0

[/UPDATE]

P.S.: Quarx, don't forget your exams :).

I did not format anything to EXT4 - Quarx latest build did it automaticly.
I did try to format to EXT3 (frankly speaking I advised the same to other mate) but this way did not help - the format was unsuccesful. After loading SBF - twice to be honest - "things" get back to normal.
I LOVE the JB version - it is SO GREAT, but...
BUT:
- red call end button during call is not responding (I and other dudes have to press twice or more to disconnect the conversation) like in stock or WIUI;
- EXT4 format - no simple way to test the Quarx build;
- battery performance (I really don't know what to do with the battd that Quarx posted) worse than other (i.e. WIUI).

I don't know for sure if it is the case with quarx cm10 builds but in eppys cm9 builds it is just the ext4 driver that's mounting our ext3 partitions and therefore running "mount | grep data" shows /data and /cache mounted as ext4 but if you check the partitions in fstab they are still ext3

Loading battery with the new battd file form Quarx:

I am now at 100%, 4313mV (4315mV was the highest value i reached).
So I can't confirm that the battery is loading only to 90%.
