Also the 2g/3g toggle in the power widget for the notification bar does not work. About the button light, if you toggle the screen brightness from the power widget they lit up until the screen turns off... then they stay off until you repeat the process again.

Yes, for the moment, it will work as a shortcut.
Just long-press the button and it will direct you to network selection menu. There you can choose either 2G only or Automatic.

+1, also 3rd party toggle widgets do no work properly. Only notification bar toggles work.

Wifi signal strength is weaker than normal ! Is it me or that's a common issue

By the way: is it only me that I can send MMS but cannot receive (all time downloading)? Sms works both way. Happend on 22nd and 23rd defy+ build with clean install

If you have to use a weak network and your phone get disconnected every time, try this:

go to Wifi Settings, press menu -> advanced and uncheck Avoid poor connections.

This helped me a lot, maybe its useful for u too.

I thinks it's due to different gapps versions... so I re-up my question:

Can someone point me to the best version of gapps to flash?

How do I fix this duplicity? As you can see has nothing installed (2x - com.android.gallery3d) to generate duplicity.

two gallery apps is not any problem...the roms made by quarx already contain 1 gallery app..and if u flash Gapps with another gallery app...it will give u two gallery app..and due to two gallery app,two camera app are displayed..u just need to delete 'gallery2' from system/app with the help of some file manager like ESfilemanager,root explorer.. thats it..camera double app will be automatically deleted if u delete extra gallery app..so its not a bug or a problem..u can tackle it easily..

Take titanium backup of the apps with its data. Factory reset and restore the created backup. Win..

deleting an app from system apps helped someone a few pages back!
try it!

few people are having trouble with gallery app . install any root explorer (root explorer/solid explorer ) . Change the permission to none (uncheck all options for permissions) for any of the gallery app. either gallery2apk or the other one ( sorry forgot the name ). That should solve most of the problems of gallery app. if someone isnt sure which one to delete . you can change permission and see which gallery is fitted for you .

Or better, flash the latest gapps after u update the nightly. I have flashed with 1607 gapps and there are no multiple apps.

Phone call, music player and lockscreen bug...

If you guys happen to have the lockscreen bug.. (which I don't happen to suffer anymore from it as it went away with the latest release on my red lensed defy

anyway, came to my mind if some of you have it, try disbling lockscren sound maybe it may work as it happens to seem some kind of audio issue.. my phone froze once when I unlocked it while getting voice directions on waze.. so it's definitely audio related..

just a thought..

do a wipe data/cache and wipe dalvik ..... mayb 2 times or more ...
this issue was reported earlier , the above was the solution ......
