With utmost pleasure I introduce you to

HydraCore v1 Universal CM and TW (JB and ICS) kernel

a groundbreaking and pioneering NoteCore successor.:p:good:

General Features:
Code:
- Built from latest samsung sources
 - Multiboot InitramFS for all rom types
 - Patches for full functionality for all rom types
 - Supports Touchwiz ICS, AOKP, AOSP, CM9 , CM10, JellyBean, ParanoidAndroid, MIUI roms
 - OC/UV version and a Standard frequencies version
 - Full root
 - Brand new CWM
 - Magical elves and wizardry
Kernel Features:
Code:
- Noop scheduler default
 - Tweaked OnDemand governor default
 - SLQB memory allocator
 - Lots of IO tweaks
 - Lots of kernel scheduler tweaks
 - Andoird logger can be "insmodded"
 - Adjusted all cpu voltage tables
 - Realtime cpu temperature, board temperature readouts and VoltGroup information in settings>about>kernel version
 - Optimised VM memory setting
 - Optimised Global block readahead
 - Increased memory for surface flinger and gpu
 - CIFS support with UTF8
 - Hardcore's MDNIE patch from speedmod k3-9
 - lots, and lots of other tweaks (see full source)
CWM Features:
Code:
- Comes with a "sort of" touch CWM (more below)
 - Both SD cards mount properly within cwm for USB Mass Storage mode / PC connection
 - Select between .dep and .tar backups
 - Fully working

To use this new CWM, simply swipe up or down on the screen to navigate the menus and single tap to select
Kernel Installation:
Code:
Install either through CWM or PC/Mobile ODIN in the usual manner. Wiping Cache and Dalvik Cache is unnecessary and wont make any difference. Flash only with 25% or more charge on the phone.
Installation routine for the rom of your choice:
Code:
- Either flash HydraCore or have a kernel installed with CWM
 - Download your ROM of choice, follow any specific rom installation instructions (in the ROM thread OP) and flash with CWM
 - Flash HydraCore in CWM or with Mobile / PC Odin
Kernel Versions:
Code:
There are two versions of this kernel, one with native OC/UV and one with standard (stock) frequencies. If you are new to this kernel, flash the STD (standard) version first, as this will work with all phones.

As you become more experienced, you might want to try the OC/UV kernel, which sets the maximum CPU speed to 1600Mhz and Maximum GPU speed to 400mhz. The OC/UV kernel is undervolted, and in some circumstances can offer significant performance improvements. However, it *may* use more battery and you phone will get a little warmer.
THIS KERNEL HAS MMC_CAP_ERASE REMOVED AND IS FULLY SAFE FOR ALL WIPES ON ALL ROM TYPES.

Kudos for cutting-edge and innovative work, Gavin.:):good:

@chasm.,

If asked to recommend a kernel for Paranoid v0. 5(cm9) which would be your advice.
CM9stable release or Hydracore or Asylum CM9 KERNEL?
Iooking for stability with 50:50 battery:performance (like speedmod for ICS).

Also the asylum cm9 thread link takes to Asylum JB rom discussion. Is this kernel ok for PAv0. 5.

What I'd do if I were you:

- download the last CM9 SR 2 kernel from the OP
- download HydraCore STD (not the OC version, because not all Notes can run it)
- put them on my SD card
- drop into CWMR and flash Hydra first, then reboot
- test it for a while
- if it doesn't work (it should work, though)
- drop back into CWMR and flash CM9 SR2

I repeat, Hydra STD should work on PA; you'll see what smoothness and battery life it brings to your Rom.

Have you tried to wipe caches, and perhaps a factory reset too if the cache wipe doesn't resolve your problem?
hhahaha nope, i wouldn't waste my effort for a factory reset to test this kernel

But yes, I did a wipe cache, wipe dalvik, fix permissions. Still ain't working. I'm still sticking to the unofficial CMs

Flashed Hydracore successfully on PAv0. 5
One issue, doesn't allow to switch on WiFi or go into its settings.

I'm on halfillusion ics with anidroid v8...

Is it any better if I flash this? Would it change the boot ani...?

Indeed you can... and yes boot animation won't change...

U can also try HydraCore posted along this... its a universal kernel for cm9/cm10/ICS/jb and is stunning... do wipe cache and dalvik after flashing it...

Judging by the reports, this bug seems to be Paranoid ICS-specific. WiFi works fine on all other Roms.
As per your suggestion, I tried Hydra, had WiFi issue and back to CM9 SR2.

Still this issue is sorted do you recommend any other kernel with good performance not compromising on battery.

AniDroid ICS kernels are PA 0.5 compatible. They are fast and have good battery life, but have wonky nandroid backup and restore.

Or you could switch to PA JB and run Hydra. No WiFi issues have been reported there.

Can we use Hydra to switch between ROMs type. I mean you run CM for example, flash Hydra and then flash a TW ROM on top of it?
