I'm on GB, LC1 DEodexed, with CF-Root. I want to flash the Speedmod k2-6 kernel.

Must I do full wipe/f. reset, or only need cache, dalvik, etc?

Thanks.

Big big thanks to chasmodo for the kernel repository. My issue is with abyss kernel but I can't see the OP so I will post it here with the an expectation that kernel guru might enlighten me. The issue is when I enter abyss red recovery I can't see my downloaded ROM this is very exasperating I do all 3 wipes and in the install menu can't see my ROM and I will be struck in abyss. why is this happening? And which kernel is safe to wipe, all 3? Thank you.

Sent from my GT-N7000 using xda app-developers app

I think that it is almost impossible for Abyss Recovery not to see your downloaded Rom. It has no problems whatsoever with mount points (SD card and Ext SD card). Try searching for your Rom on internal SD Card, and if you don't find it then on external SD card.

SpeedMod K3-10 posted in the OP (final version, no longer a test).

Changelog:

- Rebuilt using GT-N7000_ICS_Opensource_Update4 source code
- Video drivers from older GT-N7000_ICS_Opensource_Update3 source code

Kernel_CM9_20120726_CWM_Flashable.zip posted in the OP.

Changelog:

Merge "Fix build errors with gcc 4.7" into ics (by Novic_dev)
Merged on Jul 25th at 15:47:07 in android_kernel_samsung_smdk4210

The latest CM9 kernel comes with CWMR 6.0.1.0, and the recovery correctly sees all the zips on both cards - tested.
Both nandroid backup and restore work - tested.

Thanks Chasmodo for the repository. Kernels pose an important aspect of safe rom flashing/modding especially in the wake of the brick bug that came with the ICS upgrade.
Nice to see the thread is supplemented with advice from an expert.
me question --
which recovery ( associated with which kernel) can be used to flash all the CWM flashable kernels given in the OP ?
thanks again
