I see. Thank you (I exceeded my daily thanks... again...).

Erm... regarding the CM10 kernels... The phone is known to charge a lot slower with this kernel than with Samsung TouchWiz ones... Anyone knows a reason why the CM team hasn't made it so that the charging isn't painfully slow?

Asking here, instead of a CM10 thread... because... well... I like you more, guys :D .

I have no idea what charging is like on TW kernels because I haven't had one running on my Note since I'd bricked back in March.

However, I don't see my charging times as 'painfully slow'. Recharge takes about 3-4 hours, depending on how depleted the battery is.

Ah yes! That bricking feeling. Confusion, then frustration, anger, desperation, self-loathing, curiosity, hope, then finally resignation and determination. Want to hear something funny? Went through some of those emotions myself this morning. Accidentally dropped my Note in the toilet this morning:eek: Thankfully it only got partially submerged and I pulled it out immediately. I think the gel cover saved it. Pulled it apart, wiped it dry (hardly any moisture got inside) and no damage seems to have been done

None of these feelings here except anger. I could've ripped off the heads of a couple of Samsung employees had any been around ATM.:)

Phil3759 has upgraded his safe rooted stock TW kernels to v3.61.

Changelog:

Code:
Update to new Touch PhilZ 3.34 cwm 6.0.1.9 based recovery
Add nandroid /preload backup & restore support
Add option to flash modem image from recovery
Fix Aroma File Manager path for devices without /emmc mount point
Fix: mount sdcards before launch aroma as some times we did not have access to other sdcard under aroma
Fix kerne/efs backup & restore for phones without /emmc
Optimized backup/restore status log for kernel/efs/modem: now showing true success/failure based on exit code/stderr from CAT
One ORS code is enough for custom and at boot scripts
Fixed ORS backup job log
Merge cm10 branch updates:
 - Add support for doing a true ext4 format of /data on /data/media devices.
 - Shorter confirmation menu if compiled as Philz Touch
Much more user friendly touch experience (3.0+)
Download link is in the OP.

Also, there's a download link for the latest XXLSA-XJB (JB Leak) kernel at the end of the thread.

Kernel_CM10_20121123_Nightly_CWM.zip added to the OP.

Changelog here.

P.S. My phone almost fell victim to my sloppiness. After downloading the last CM10 nightly directly from Jenkins I started to extract the modules and there were too many of them...

After checking the CM10 zip I saw I had downloaded CM10-blah-blah-n7100.zip. Since I always flash CM10 kernels to check my job before publishing them here...

Kernel posted here is the correct one, though.

I'm sorry... I thought that without official source code for the X kernel, one can not tinker with it to add stuff, do that and **** that... :/

So... how can PhilZ bring modifications to the leaked kernels?! :/

Again... I'm sorry for my stupidity. Perhaps someone can enlight me...?

I don't know how it's done, you should ask Phil.

However, chainfire used to do the same with the early ICS leak kernels, too.
Changes are to Ramdisk only. Kernel itself remains untouched apart from disabling eMMC_CAP_ERASE via Tungstwenty's hex patching method. That's why kernel doesn't need to be recompliled from source. Just offending byte changed from 1 to zero. But that could change soon. Keep an eye on Philz thread.....;)
