Your post is off topic, and it's tough to follow you exactly, but it sounds like you are on the ICS firmware. No, you cannot and should not flash any JB ROM over the ICS firmware. You may be using the wrong bootloader unlocker. The versions changed with JB. I believe you need v.07 for ICS unlock and v.08 for JB. (Someone correct me if I'm wrong, it might be 0.7 for JB and 0.8 for 4.2).

Unlock bootloader FIRST, then, if you're going to use a JB 4.2.1 ROM, you need to update your firmware. There are several other threads here to assist with that. *This* thread is about re-rooting using Motochopper (which has only worked sporadically on the JB firmware, and not for me).

Greetings,

Need help with Motochopper and Asus TF201:
I downloaded/unpacked package; started run.but.
Connected my tabled to a PC with "USB debugging" enabled (I can see "USB debugging connected" notification on the tablet).
But the only thing I can see in the console is:
[*] Press enter to root your phone...
Press any key to continue . . .
[*]
[*] Waiting for device...
* daemon not running. starting it now on port 5037 *
* daemon started successfully *

I even copied about 3.5G on the tablet -- nothing changed.

Please -- can you suggest what I should do else?

Best regards...

This is my first time trying to root anything since this is also my first android. I tried using motochopper to root my TF700T. It says that installing SuperSU was successful, but the rooting failed. I have now tried redownloading it, and tried reusing it multiple times now. When i click on SuperSU it says "There is no SU binary installed and SuperSU cannot install it. This is a problem!" Has anyone else ran into this, and if so know a way to correct it.

I was able to look around some more now and i found my answer. In case anyone else runs into the same issue, if your tf700 is running on build 10.6.1.14.10, it cannot be rooted by using motochopper. you have to downgrade to 10.6.1.14.08. This post explains it: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2252563

Some posts back you can see that many of the users that faced this issue, decided to root using other tools like Kingo or Vroot. In my case, having to downgrade was not a desirable path to follow.

I didn't have a problem with it. I've used it 3 or 4 times now without a hitch.
By any chance have you had random lockups? It doesn't happen often to me but every now and then it halts on a black screen and I have to hold the power button for it to reboot.

Not that I remember. Sometimes if I try to flash something I'm not suppose to or do something stupid it either boot loops or I get stuck on boot animation but I don't think I'ver ever gotten a black screen before.

You can also use vroot and install super su from the market and then freeze the vroot super user apk with titanium backup

But I liked Kingo Android Root better than vroot because vroot is in chinese and Kingo isn't.

Still stuck on daemon started successfully

Having the same problem as this user. Have all the updated drivers for my Asus Transformer Prime 201. It just stays stuck on Daemon Started Successfully when I try to run Motochopper.

Any ideas?

Thanks.
