Unfortunately, this seems to be a common problem with custom roms for the galaxy s4. There have been already discussions about it including proposals for solutions. To find them, all you have to do is to search for "black" on this thread. Good luck!

Magisk on V12 and Aroma stuff

I tested a little bit and found out, that the last working version of Magisk on this ROM is Magisk-v18.1 (assuming we're on v12 without Aroma package and on allucard kernel edit: mine is a GT-I9505 (jfltexx) btw).
When installing any higher version (19.0-19.3, tested all of them), the ROM boots indeed but after unlocking the lockscreen the launcher and every other app crashloops and you get spammed by crash notifications. Trying to reboot will get you stuck in a bootloop.
I don't know anything about android and kernels but i guess it's some compatibility issue since this rom and the kernel are a little bit older.
Just flash v18.1 via twrp and never update. This rom is in EOL state, therefore this could only be fixed by the Magisk developers. Maybe some later version will work again...but most likely not.

Installing the Aroma package kinda doesn't work for me. Obviously just trying to flash the .zip from github didn't work. I tried to combine the archives by replacing the files from the rom zip with the files from the aroma zip and flash it. I got into the aroma installer assistant but when it's about to install it just goes to the installation finished screen without actually doing anything. Anybody got a trick for that?

Yes i've been tested this too, installed lastest magisk version both via TWRP or magisk manager will result bootloop on this rom. The only way to recover is by flashing the lastest magisk uninstaller via TWRP and reinstall magisk 18.1
I've another problem with optimized los 14.1 if i cleared dalvik+cache. It wont booting just stuck in animation, so i have to pull the battery out to make a boot normally
I installed this rom and i upgraded my bootloader and modem to latest one for my model SGH-M919. When it rebooted it now says kernel is not seandroid enforcing. I thought custom firmware is compatible with any bootloader and modem for my model?

I'd just like to thank Side & Co. for this ROM. After following @Retrial's awesome installation guides I got latest JCDTeam TWRP, BL and modem. Tried Optimized Pie 16 but it ran too hot and had major scrolling lag on Chrome and FB, but this one runs like a dream!
I'm still noticing higher battery drain when screen is on, but not as high as Pie. Got Magisk working - even my banking app works with it.
I have one issue: JCDToolbox or whatever it's called isn't working. It's complaining of no supersu access yet magisk hasn't prompted me at all. Is it my fault for adding Magisk too late? I didn't add it before first boot.
Also, how do I safely remove stock email, calendar and music apps? I'd usually do it in Aroma but v12 doesn't appear to have one and I know nothing of building from packages. Thanks.

INSTALLATION
If you are coming from any previous Optimized LineageOS 13/14 version or any other ROM, please do a clean install!

FULL WIPE (with external microsd card)
- Move any files you want to keep to your External MicroSD Card – ! Or you will lose them !
- Download your Optimized LineageOS Rom and GApps Package
- Move your Optimized LineageOS Rom and GApps Package to the external microsd storage
- Boot into Recovery Mode (Hold volume up, Home, and Power button for 1 second after the vibrate)
- Wipe > Advanced Wipe > Select On (Enable tick) for Dalvik / Art Cache, System, Data, Internal Storage, Cache
- Swipe to Wipe at Bottom of Screen
- Back to Main start screen
- Wipe > Format Data
- Type ‘Yes’ and press blue checkmark at the bottom-right corner
- Back to Main Start Screen Install to Rom and Gapps
- After you have finished installing the Rom and GApps > Wipe Cache/Dalvik > Swipe to Wipe
- Reboot System! Enjoy!

NOTICE: First boot after an install/update takes a while, wait at least 5 minutes for it to boot.
If the LED stops flashing and goes solid with any color then SuperSU did not correctly trigger the reboot.. You can either pull the battery -OR- hold down the power button for 15 seconds till the led/screen goes blank, then let go of the power button.. Then after another 4 seconds it will automatically boot and vibrate and everything is 100% normal.. It only happens that one time on a new Rom install with SuperSU.

*Of course not!!!my oneplus is using optcm rom too without alucard of course. That means that rom is being worked on oneplus side and I will adapt the edits to optcm for jf

*optcm15 is not "optcm" yet... What that means... The optcm15 release build is ready... BUT... since the most lineage source code is still aosp, there is no reason to release it. Jdcteam's -+bb+- released the aosp Oreo. Why should I release the same rom but rebranded to lineage?
To sum up... I don't believe it worth to release it NOW.
