I upgrade a i9505 from a stock 4.4.2 to stock 5.0.1 and then this custom ROM and I have battery drain issues.The battery is drainig way too fast compared to the stock 4.4.2.What should I do?
Is there any way to downgrade to stock 4.4.2?

Battery drain is always difficult to solve. There are many different reasons for it: your specific device model, combination of rom, kernel, gapps, installed apps, usage of gps and wireless connection etc. There's always a chance a custom rom has higher battery consumption due to incompatibilities between this mentioned combination.

First, you should check the steps @Retrial described in his tutorial to flash the latest rom (eg make sure, you've installed latest bootloader and modem)

You can always go back and flash a stock rom with odin.

If you want to know what exactly is the cause for the higher battery drain, you should install a battery monitoring app, e.g. BetterBatteryStats and GSam Battery Monitor.

They are not very easy to use, installing requires root or granting special access to system logs with adb commands. But all required steps to install and to read the results are described in detailed descriptions.

Two short questions:
1) Although I know that a clean install including wiping is the recommend way - is there any chance that I have also success with a dirty flash of 17.1-optimized if I am coming from 17.1-official/nightly-ROM without completely messing up settings and with keeping data and apps? Or do you think chances tend versus zero? (No Gapps installed)
Background is that my GT-I9505 has random reboots once-twice a day with official 17.1 and I have no clue where it comes from (4 other devices running well). I hoped just to dirty-flash the optimized ROM over the official one could be the less-work-variant with preserving all data - and if I have no random reboots afterwards I would be happy to use it further without re-install all apps / settings.... I just want to give it a try to get rid of the reboot-problem, before a wipe

2) Does the optimized version also provides a working internal updater? Or updates only manually possible?

I installed the last assembly, but the GSM mode does not turn on in any way. Device version L720 with communication module L720VPUAMDC. The device is trying to connect to the local network operator CDMA and does not want to turn on the GSM SIM card in any way.

It SHOULD work. I've done it once - with TWRP - about 2 years ago. So I don't remember the details.

As TWRP creates a device specific folder containing the serial number you'll have to rename the backup folder so that TWRP shows the backup at all on the other device. You can check how the backup folder has to be named when you do a backup first on the device where you want to restore the backup from the other device.

I have a question - Where can I find the gesture options to 'Double Tap to Wake' screen and 'Wave to Wake' screen? I had those activated in version 6 but can't seem to find them now.

I've yet to move to the new version due to no stable gapps.

I've got some apps saying the device isn't secure and therfore won't run. It passes the safetynet test.
Could this be due to selinux is not enforcing? If so.. How do I enforce it?

Another issue I'm Having. Is WiFi seems to be disconnecting when screen turns off. It's so annoying. Can't find the stay awake setting anywhere

U have to repeat this step after each reboot. Use terminal emulator.

If you have Smart Pixels enabled turn them off.

I can't make my bank apps work, besides I installed magisk 23 stable with all the safetynet modules, hiding the app even using magisk hide, is there a solution for this? I could hide it using the android 6.0 optimized lineageOS. with Magisk 23 stable.

Yes u can. It worked on Optlos 16. U have to repeat this step after each reboot. Use terminal emulator.

My phone works fine and all but I get the same issue like the other users, when my mobile screen turns off, the wifi is gone as well. Any solution for this please?
