While using this rom to surfing the net, i noticed the cam icon to appear at the notification tray.
This happened for about 1 second.
Does this means that something was using my cam? Rom is unrooted without any extra apps.
Is this a spy rom???!

Hi Mpoumpouna! I think your username matches with your phrase "Is this a spy rom????!"
To answer your question, no, this is not a spy ROM. You can also check the code by yourself since it's open source.
Please give more infos when you say "while surfing the net". What apps you have opened and you used, what browser?

Check the website settings on chrome. Disable camera. (And btw don't use Chrome - Use Brave or Bromite)
Maybe the site you tried to visit wanted access to your camera.

Is the led turned blue when you saw this camera icon? Optimized LineageOS has a security feature when the camera is open the led turn on with blue colour.

However I will disable camera access to chrome but I can't promise to use another browser!
I will trust your words(You seem honest) that this is not a spy rom and I will check if this happens again!

The browsers I suggested are based on chromium but with privacy and security in mind compared to chrome, so you will not see big difference on layout. It's up to you tho.

Well, it's not spy rom 101%. Side, the dev of the ROM, is very poppular on this community for so many years and also working together with Official LineageOS devs. You can also join us in the slack for chat.
Probably the site you tried to visited wanted to access your camera for some reason. I am not sure. As I said the ROM has a security feature implemented by side which turn the led on with blue color whenever the camera is on.

Sorry, we can't do that, we keep a backup of all cute faces

power button is sticking. managed to boot again with a bit of massaging

going to keep this as a backup phone now.

is there a way to modify the rom, to either swap power button to a volume button. or better still, when it gets put on charge it auto boots the phone.
ive googled the autoboot when plugged in, but cant seem to get it working.

Playing with linux for mobile, I have a family of rpis, dot net c# Dev, 40yrs system experience , day job is looking after some of the most powerful systems on the planet.

Light bulb moment, the side does not use gapps so I cut the cord and did it side style and wow, what a difference! Slick, smooth and wow that battery life.

I guess Official LineageOS will update to A12, so it won't be the last Android for S4.
Side, needs a co-dev to help him with ROM because the time is pressure for him and also to update his pc hardware. He may come back in future if anyone willing to help

Short question: having quite bad battery life (<< 1day) with new battery and opt-LOS-5.0 I ask my if it would be worth to update the modem file from I9505XXUHPK2 (latest official from 2017) to I9505XXUHQK1 (latest from 2019). Any thoughts that it could be any better afterwards (I know without logs and system details its hard to say ... just a rough guess maybe)?

Strange enough, additionally I have same problem but only with one of four GT-I9515 (especially after enabeling 4G/LTE). Will give also a try in update the modem file.

That COULD be of help, if the newer modem improves the connection to your provider / wifi access point. I'd give it a try. I9505XXUHPK2 worked great for me a long time, but I've also updated to I9505XXUHQK1. If the first one works for you, the second one will at least work as great.

Regarding your battery issue: Well - of course - first and foremost, battery life will depend on your usage... And often, after a fresh flash, battery life is terrible, because of optimisations and updates (especially if you've flashed gapps, too). Let the device work in the background 1-2 days and battery time should improve (at least when in idle).

If not, you should check out battery apps which could help to narrow down, if the rom is causing the battery drain or an app. I've written something more about it here.
