Thank you very much, pipyui!

I saw that post some days ago because i read (or scan...) the thread very often because I wait for new release :). But at this moment i had the optimized AOSP installed and the 09/10 optimized cm12.1 was posted later, so i couldnt test it. And I completly forgot that post... I will try it and report if it also helps for me. Again thank you!!!

hey guys... I'm still using the August version and I have massiv GPS Issues (fix takes long, gets lost or I'm driving in the wrong direction). Compass is horrible as well (and might be related to the GPS issues). Compass calibration is also lost after reboot. Is there a way to fix it or is it fixed in the new build?

thanks!

Does this mean that JDC team is willing to publish updates until December if significant bugs are discovered? Though when reading the changelog the chance seems to be very small. [emoji106] [emoji6]

Yep, but not only for significant bugs, there are some things to still finish. We are thinking about reorganize our ROMs releases schedule to 1 build/week unless significant bugs are discovered which would mean even if a build was released yesterday, today there's another upcoming one

Will the "Bluetooth share has stopped" bug be completly fixed in the new build?

I'm using the 09th October release at the moment - had also the older builds and tested optimized aosp before - and made a complete clean install, wiped everything including internal storage (to have really no android trash) and only copied private data back and restored some apps with Titanium Backup. Before that i installed the latest stock HOH2 rom from Samsung to have the newest bootloader and baseband (had MGA bootloader before with old LTE and newer flashed GSM modem).

But bluetooth still crashing. It runs well for several hours if its connected to a device, but if it's idling it crashes sometimes out of nowhere. Sometimes it crashes again and again and i need some reboots to get this working (or pkill com.android.bluetooth in terminal) and can connect to one of my devices - often it crashes immediatly after booting up the system and it doesnt matter if a bluetooth device is in range or activated. So if its connected everything is fine and if it's not connected it crashes randomly.

The rom (09/10 build) runs so fast and is so responsive now. I thought of buying a new phone but the S4 is so up-to-date, nice and fluid with current optimized cm12.1 that this would be waste of money. But thats the only thing that is (sorry) so annoying because i use bluetooth very often - connected to my car for playing music (spotify) and to make some phone calls or listen to music with my AKG K845BT headphones.

Really no offense, just the hope that this could be or is fixed in the new coming build. I'm also a developer (driver assistance systems for automotive - VW) and know what nice and hard work the team did and do - also to support such an "old" device so long!!

Could you try to flash the attachment? It would help a lot, I can't reproduce BT issues here :(

Do we wait for today ?

Sure, I booted the new build right now

Woo! New update hype! JDCTeam, keep up the good work! You guys are the best! :D

Thank you :)

In STweaks->Other you can set GPS region to your country for faster fix, compass doesn't have any issue in that build and generally in our kernel. Did you flash a different one?

Hi AntaresOne,

This file might help others avoid Bluetooth crashes, too. Can I attach the file here? Or maybe anyone who needs it should just download the ROM from the link above?

Maybe someone else wants to test the file, see if it fixes the "Bluetooth Share has stopped" problem?

Hello,
I really would like to try your workaround, may I ask you to share a download link or post the file here?
Thanks alot!

I would see a GPS Status screenshot (you need to take it when GPS is set to device-only and you're outside, make sure it's not cloudy) but as the new build is coming better to wait for it

Grazie mile a tutta la squadra per il vostro duro laboro con il S4.
Non mollare mai!!!

Grazie a te, siamo felici di sapere che ci apprezzate molto!!

Thank you, we're glad to know that you appreciate us a lot!!

:)

Bedankt en de groetjes

Mate as for XDA rules you're allowed to write in your language but you must attach the english translation too

Thanks for your response to the problem! I downloaded the Imperium ROM 10.1 that wpyh mentioned and replaced the file by myself. Everything seems to work flawless now. No "Bluetooth share has stopped" anymore for 4 hours now and bt connection to my car infotainment system also works great. Should i still try your workaround? Checked the file size and it seems not the same and you added another bt related lib in your zip. If you want then i would test it for you. ;)

@wpyh
Again thanks to you, for me BT seems to work great now, too!

Seems there's another proprietary bluetooth blob which we need to test, the current libbt-vendor is built from source instead of prebuilt from a Samsung ROM. I took those two blobs from the GPE, we would like to know if all is good with them as it's going to be committed

You're to fast, edited my post. :)

Checked the file size and saw that it's not the same. I flash your zip now to test it.

EDIT: @AntaresOne
First impression is good. No crash at the moment. Current short tests with different combinations: I swiched bluetooth on/off some times, paired again with my AKG B845BT, played some music, switched the headphones on/off, disabled bt while headphones were connected, switched wlan on/off, airplane on/off. And still no crash. I will give a next report tomorrow after approx 24 hours.

Clean install is strongly suggested, especially if you are on 17/08 build.

If you use OpenGApps please reflash the GApps package after you update* the ROM (*but take care of the words rightly above this sentence)

Random reboots? Take a copy of the last_kmsg located at /proc (you need a root file browser or terminal emulator [su -C cat /proc/last_kmsg > /sdcard/last_kmsg.log]) we need logs!

Still bluetooth issues? Flash this and test, then let us know

eMMC will be trimmed automatically at each boot, note that this could slowdown a bit the boot process but will prevent the ROM from being sluggish time over time. A log for trim is saved in /cache/trim.log, most of the times about /system will show 0 bytes trimmed: this is not a bug as this partition doesn't need trim at all, but has been included anyway.

IR apps issues? No more a fear, just go in Toolbox->IR Driver!

Personalize the notification LED at boot with Toolbox!

    Using F2FS
    What it is? Wikipedia

    To use it you should first convert your EXT4 partitions through recovery, before installing this ROM.

    On PhilZ:
    1. Wipe and format options->custom format options->toggle ext4 f2fs migration
    2. Format cache->f2fs
    3. Format data and data/media-> f2fs (Warning: internal storage is formatted, make a backup of your personal data before doing this!)

    On TWRP:
    1. Download and install this TWRP version: https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=24269982086988952
    2. Wipe->advanced wipe
    3. Select cache->change or repair file system->f2fs
    4. Select data->change or repair file system->f2fs (Warning: internal storage is formatted, make a backup of your personal data before doing this!)

    Updates down the road!

    Hi guys :)

    Thread is back and cleaned, thanks to @malybru

    I don't know if someone had a look in my GitHub, I didn't stop to develop anything :)

    I own a new build server thanks to @gkkovacs' kindness, pending request for another one by @azuziel :)

    With two build systems we may work way better, there's a lot of greatness for this device down the road!

    Already built a new update with MANY changes inside, currently being tested by other JDCTeam friends. Also sent download link to some Sprint guys to test data connection: @ccuchulain @mikshephard @mwilder817 @sekinger @todivefor

    Oh, almost forgot :p :p

    I'm glad to present the Jflte Developers Connection Team, in short JDCTeam!!!!!!!

    We are:

    • @alucard_24 ("I want AOSP fully working" mainly kernel developer, tester)
    • @angelcalibur ("I want your build script, Mattia", trainee ROM developer, tester)
    • @AntaresOne ("This is going to work...", mainly ROM developer, JDC GitHub repos maintainer, little tester)
    • @-+BB+- ( "I love Slackware", trainee ROM developer, tester)
    • @franzyroy ("Mattia update Dark Side theme on the Play Store", tester)
    • @Jimsilver73 ("I want Slim lockscreen shortcuts in Optimized CM", tester)
    • @Kryten2k35 ("Use OTA Updates, fast, free, many features, stable! ;)", mainly ROM developer, tester)
    • @smeroni68 ("Mattia, ETA??????", the brain, JDC founder, designer, tester)
    • A secret insider :cool:

    Hahaha :)

    Going to change this ROM to JDCTeam in the next update, time to let guys test and I will release, so it's very close!!!

    Also, any our project starting from now will be JDCTeam's own, except individual ones.

    In case anyone wants to follow our progress, you can see our GitHub: https://github.com/JDCTeam that for now is almost empty, we have to merge all our sources there :)

    We'll soon have our webpage, Facebook page and Google+ community!

    Things to download will be in RomHut, so not anymore in AndroidFileHost

    A huge "thank you so much" again to all the donators who donated to support this awesome project!!!

    With all your efforts, there are until now:

    • 125 total donations
      [*]879,30 euro!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    You're under "Credits" in 1st post as "Donators" :)

    Pretty good for a nice build system, but I will wait more :) I want to make a rocket like the old one, it used to build updates in only 20 minutes!!

    Now, let's start again guys!!
