Quick question.
Does anybody here think that if my Galaxy S4's bootloader (TWRP) is too new that it could have led to why my wired headset mic and button won't work any more?
Just looking for a simple "yes it could do that" or "no it is not really at all possible it's more of a ROM issue" answer.

Thanks in advance. Keep on rockin', baby. The 6.0* JDCTeam Galaxy S4 ROM is looking sexy. ::thumbs up emoji thing::

I have 2 questions.

The first is about the Samsung S-View cover. Is the any option to activate the S-View display options? To display the clock and other things in the small Cover-display?

And the second is about the s-tweaks.
What is the 'Arch-power' ?
Standard it is off. What happens if I turn it on?
Thank you for your help.

Was literally just wondering the same thing the other day. Arch-power .. ? hmm .. .. The question gets my vote also. It's enabled by default in mine. Weird ..

TWRP is the recovery, the bootloader is different.
Simple answer: Probably not.

Comcerning arch_power, I'll grab a screenshot courtesy of the Sylah kernel. :) Generally you should leave it enabled.

I have some problems with the music app. Stock music and Google play music are always crashing after a few songs. The music playback is buggy, stucks and the apps force a close.
Awesome player and Nu player, both have the same problems.

Any solution?

Bluetooth stopped working; apps on ext sd card misbevavior

Hi there,

I am on Jan18 build and it worked flawlessly for months (well, except for logcat not working, see some of my earlier posts).

...until, some weeks ago, suddenly "bluetooth stopped working". And since then it happens again and again. I absolutely don't know why. I didn't install anything or took any other related actions. I just did software updates when there were such.

Any ideas what could have happened?

There is maybe just one related issue, because I haven't found any reports about that here in the forum:
When moving app data out to the external SD card I very often have freezes of the ROM (then only battery out helps). But even if it succeeds it sometimes takes up to 10min to finish. And upon every update the data seems to be back on internal. And the data usage overview also doesn't seem to calculate correctly.

I already checked my SD card but it doesn't appear to have any basical problems.

It's a minor issue, so I didn't report it earlier, but now with the "degrading" bluetooth performance:
Has anybody out there similar problems with app data on the external SD card?

And what would be your ideas (except reinstalling everything) to get rid of the bluetooth crashes?

best regards

I may be wrong but i think the phone doesn't support this function, like the moto X or a few else. It need a hardware chip to always "listen" to you.

On my experience with this rom, it was the better rom i never put on any phone period, until it developed a strange problem.

My music index was somehow getting corrupted.

Random songs of an album would appear like a 0 seconds file, and trying to play a zero second file ended with the player crashing.

Tried google play, black player, and a few others, all with same result. Though about my sd card defective, try another one, same problem. And using the previous one in another phone, all albums appeared perfectly in the music library. Moved music folder from sd card to internal memory same problem. Changed rom, problem fixed.

If someone have a way to fix this, i return to this rom right now.

Yes, The Music Playback is crashing mostly.
The voice command Problem was Fixed with a dalvik Cash wipe.
But after loosing WiFi Connection, The Mobile Data is Not working, it Shows me Just a " ! "
Tuning The flight mode on and Off fix it, but not always. Then i have to Reboot, sometimes i have to deinstall and reinstall The Battery for getting a Mobile Data.

I'm confused, because The Mobile Data Problem is Just since a few days. Before it was working perfect...

When I use an S-Viewcover, the mobile data bug is here, but if I use the normal cover, the wlan-mobile data switch works.

Music playback hanging problem is related to ID3v2 tags

...

I had been dealing with this problem for a long time as well, without finding a solution. I tried multiple programs, but there was an odd disparity in the types and sources of my music files which caused the issue. I was able to make "good" files go "bad", and then made them "good" again. I caused the files to hang on playback after I retagged the MP3s with ID3v1 and ID3v2 tags (using MP3Tag and/or Winamp, in this case); songs generally would not even start to play, and the entire player would crash when trying to advance tracks. I wiped the tags, then retagged with only ID3v1, and the problem was resolved.

Bought an S4 just for ****s & giggles, after doing the free SIM Unlock method and decided to try out this ROM...
Still running smoothly six months later!

Comparing my JDC with buddy's stock 5.1.1 S4 and keep thinking that THIS is the 9505's purest form! Haha

Thanks devs!

Hi. I love your rom but I'm having a problem with changing the resolution. You see I've been using NOMone Resolution Changer in other roms to make my games faster. But if I use it in your previews roms, only the DPI is changed, the resolution still stays at 1080p. Do you have a workaround in this? Thanks

I'm looking to change my screen to 720P.

Do getprop ro.bootloader in Terminal Emulator or through ADB shell to find out which bootloader you have

    Using F2FS
    What it is? Wikipedia

To use it you should first convert your EXT4 partitions through recovery, before installing this ROM.

    On PhilZ:
    1. Wipe and format options->custom format options->toggle ext4 f2fs migration
    2. Format cache->f2fs
    3. Format data and data/media-> f2fs (Warning: internal storage is formatted, make a backup of your personal data before doing this!)

    On TWRP:
    1. Download and install this TWRP version: https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=24269982086988952
    2. Wipe->advanced wipe
    3. Select cache->change or repair file system->f2fs
    4. Select data->change or repair file system->f2fs (Warning: internal storage is formatted, make a backup of your personal data before doing this!)

    Updates down the road!

    Hi guys :)

Thread is back and cleaned, thanks to @malybru

I don't know if someone had a look in my GitHub, I didn't stop to develop anything :)

I own a new build server thanks to @gkkovacs' kindness, pending request for another one by @azuziel :)

With two build systems we may work way better, there's a lot of greatness for this device down the road!

Already built a new update with MANY changes inside, currently being tested by other JDCTeam friends. Also sent download link to some Sprint guys to test data connection: @ccuchulain @mikshephard @mwilder817 @sekinger @todivefor

    Oh, almost forgot :p :p

I'm glad to present the Jflte Developers Connection Team, in short JDCTeam!!!!!!!

    We are:

    • @alucard_24 ("I want AOSP fully working" mainly kernel developer, tester)
    • @angelcalibur ("I want your build script, Mattia", trainee ROM developer, tester)
    • @AntaresOne ("This is going to work...", mainly ROM developer, JDC GitHub repos maintainer, little tester)
    • @-+BB+- ( "I love Slackware", trainee ROM developer, tester)
    • @franzyroy ("Mattia update Dark Side theme on the Play Store", tester)
    • @Jimsilver73 ("I want Slim lockscreen shortcuts in Optimized CM", tester)
    • @Kryten2k35 ("Use OTA Updates, fast, free, many features, stable! ;)", mainly ROM developer, tester)
    • @smeroni68 ("Mattia, ETA??????", the brain, JDC founder, designer, tester)
    • A secret insider

    Hahaha :)

Going to change this ROM to JDCTeam in the next update, time to let guys test and I will release, so it's very close!!!

Also, any our project starting from now will be JDCTeam's own, except individual ones.

In case anyone wants to follow our progress, you can see our GitHub: https://github.com/JDCTeam that for now is almost empty, we have to merge all our sources there :)

We'll soon have our webpage, Facebook page and Google+ community!

Things to download will be in RomHut, so not anymore in AndroidFileHost

A huge "thank you so much" again to all the donators who donated to support this awesome project!!!

With all your efforts, there are until now:

    • 125 total donations
      [*]879,30 euro!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You're under "Credits" in 1st post as "Donators" :)

Pretty good for a nice build system, but I will wait more :) I want to make a rocket like the old one, it used to build updates in only 20 minutes!!

Now, let's start again guys!! :good:

Clean install is strongly suggested, especially if you are on 17/08 build.

If you use OpenGApps please reflash the GApps package after you update* the ROM (*but take care of the words rightly above this sentence)

Random reboots? Take a copy of the last_kmsg located at /proc (you need a root file browser or terminal emulator [su -C cat /proc/last_kmsg > /sdcard/last_kmsg.log]) we need logs!

Still bluetooth issues? Flash this and test, then let us know

eMMC will be trimmed automatically at each boot, note that this could slowdown a bit the boot process but will prevent the ROM from being sluggish time over time. A log for trim is saved in /cache/trim.log, most of the times about /system will show 0 bytes trimmed: this is not a bug as this partition doesn't need trim at all, but has been included anyway.

IR apps issues? No more a fear, just go in Toolbox->IR Driver!

Personalize the notification LED at boot with Toolbox!
