Technically, root could void your warranty but it is reversible and therefore there is no way for the vendor to discover the device was ever rooted if properly reversed. You sure about that?

Ehh, I dunno about that. If root didn't void warranty, then it would come with root access. Besides, phones with locked bootloaders are voided once rooted, so why would this be any different? Because they allow you to unlock the bootloader?root does NOT void warranty. unlock voids warranty.
So you may be able to get a replacement if you don't mention the rooting and they may not care/notice if you send them a rooted unit, but rooting most certainly DOES void the warranty and the agreement.1. General...

Thank you for clarifying. I thought my post above was self explanatory. When people say that rooting doesn't void the warranty, they mean that you can un-root easily so Asus will never know. That's all. Of course, if you're stupid enough to RMA a rooted device then that's a different matter.

It doesn't leave a trace on the device like on some other devices? I forget the device (maybe one of my old Droids), but I recall one of the devs saying rooting left a trace on the device so even if it was unrooted, they could tell; the only way to avoid that was to SBF (factory image) the device. When people say that rooting doesn't void the warranty, they mean that you can un-root easily so Asus will never know.
