Installed JB on my phone the day it was released and I still have flash.

same here. and I use chrome exclusively on phone and tablet.
i could see this beeing a huge deal a year ago...but most sites have moved onto HTML5. pretty much any site i visit now with an embedded video works just like it did in the past with FLASH. but seeing as how i only use chrome, and it does not support flash, evrything (for me at least) works just fine without FLASH.

and in the rare case i cannot watch the embedded video, i can usually get the video to open in another app (the gallery and MX video can stream online videos) or tapping the "youtube" logo in the bottom right corner of youtube videos will open the video in the youtube app.

its not a big deal any more. Jellybeans pro's outweigh the "negative" of the lack of FLASH. i for one cannot wait to get it.

You sure about that?

Technically, root could void your warranty but it is reversible and therefore there is no way for the vendor to discover the device was ever rooted if properly reversed.

Unlocking on the other hand requires Asus' unlock tool which logs your device and results in a voided warrantee in which your action can easily be proven.

root does NOT void warranty. unlock voids warranty.
Ehh, I dunno about that. If root didn't void warranty, then it would come with root access. Besides, phones with locked bootloaders are voided once rooted, so why would this be any different? Because they allow you to unlock the bootloader?

Phones like the gnex and spectrum are voided upon rooting and have unlocked bootloaders so I don't know you're correct. Tell ya what, I'll read the warranty and report back.

*Edit*

People should read the warranty card before making claims like this.

1. General...

...ASUS warrant does not include failure caused by inproper installation, operation, cleaning or maintenence, accident, damage, misuse, non-ASUS modifications to the product...
So you may be able to get a replacement if you don't mention the rooting and they may not care/notice if you send them a rooted unit, but rooting most certainly DOES void the warranty and the agreement.

When people say that rooting doesn't void the warranty, they mean that you can un-root easily so Asus will never know. That's all. Of course, if you're stupid enough to RMA a rooted device then that's a different matter.

Thank you for clarifying. I thought my post above was self explanatory.

It doesn't leave a trace on the device like on some other devices? I forget the device (maybe one of my old Droids), but I recall one of the devs saying rooting left a trace on the device so even if it was unrooted, they could tell; the only way to avoid that was to SBF (factory image) the device.
