Why does it take so long?

Sony, like most companies, trickles out updates so they will not have to handle an entire planet's worth of service calls all at one time.

Change region to US then update. Piece of piss.
I did it from NZ to US in 2 mins, change region all the time (to get update links, for unusual ones Japan etc) and it is safe as houses LOL

AND then you can change region back to UK if it is that big of a deal.

Help will be greatly appreciated. My tablet is on 3.2 kernel#10 .. and I want to root my tablet.

secondly can you bypass region checking so that i use another country's 3.2.1 r2 file on my 3.2 kernel#10 AUS version?
(my tablet model: sgpt111au/s)

you can not root your kernel build. try to update on ics, then get the root and after that you'll be able to downgrade to 3.2.1.

I am changing my region to receive the 4.03 r5, can I flash it through AIO tool? or downloading the OTA? can I use root keeper to keep root?

Edit: I did it through ota, and root with bin4ry 12.7 without problem.

Hi sorry, I am the biggest noob out. Ok so you are basically saying that I update to icream sandwich..and then get root?. ... can I get root after I update.??. If yes please tel me how.?. As I do not know.
Second I cannot find 3.2.1. r2 for australian region... to downgrade after update.?

I m on stock version... which is 3.2 kernel#10... I read on this site that someone updated to 3.2.1 kernel#5 and then used ithink condi's tool or something... so you see thats why I thought I should first update to 3.2.1.r2 and then take it from there...
And now the problem is that I cannot find 3.2.1 r2 for AUS tablet s

This is ICS root thread (But you can use the search even you're noob)

Unfortunately, there is not official update link because it's removed. But you can try to ask somebody from your country to upload the 3.2.1 zipfile. Or you can change the region after getting root and downgrade to nonaustralian 3.2.1.

Notice: If you're noob think better before root and other operations with tablet, because you can brick it. (The ICS root method is safe, but the possibilities you get are very dangerous )

I have the New Zealand update if you want it LOL. Anyway you would have to install ICS Over The Ait, Settings > About > Sytem Update.

Then root ICS.

Then use AIO Tool to change region to another country that someone has a 3.2.1r2 update. Closest would probably be NZ then you can pre-root and install 3.2.1

Makes me everytime. Not corrupt but encrypted by Sony. Recovery decrypts it before installing it. It is me t to be like that

I ve learned reading there that these updates are signed and encrypted by sony , so can you help me finding a solution to extract the update content , maybe with a short guide? thanks in advance

Sorry, you need a tablet to decrypt them && I would do it for you but..................... Since the R5 update on Sony Tablet S I am unable to decrypt anything as the recovery has been 'upgraded' to not allow adb shell to run.

You may need to ask somebody else to do this....

trouble flashing update

I am trying to reflash my stock firmware on my xperia tablet s. I must have messed up some files (I was rooted). I am in recovery and am trying to flash the latest "US" update to my tab but I am getting the following error."Erohibed update as result of checking version or base sku"

What do I need to do to reflash and get back to stock?
