Yea but hey we're doing better than the G7 play guys right now so there's a win I guess ? o and hope your feeling better. Noticed you were kinda absent from all the chaos lol
Yes i was, and for good reason. I'm doing a little better, not 100 % yet. I'm looking deeper into this, maybe we can fix this mess. We'll see

edit: I looked at Motorolas github and correct me if im wrong but the last buildable kernel source posted was for oreo. I'm going to pull my stock pie kernel and take a look and see if it contains a ramdisk. I know that trying to build it from scratch with what we have available now the ramdisk ends up missing. I'll post back on what i find, if anything at all.

I'm going to open an issue on Motorola's GitHub and request the pie source. That's how I got them to post the Oreo source.

Update: Done. I'll let you know when it's up. Took about a week last time.

If you need anything else pulled lmk also this is the most progress we have had Ina bit ? being a manger for 3 assisted tunnel carwashes has kept me to busy to wanna care but I still see a light in this dark tunnel now lol pun intended. I did have an extra moto g6 play I was offering up but my cousin broke her phone so I let her have it but my current g6 play I'm willing to mess around with because it's not my daily phone anymore

A little better. I appreciate you asking, and I'll do my best to help. Once we hear back from motorola we should have more possibilities. Definitely looking forward to that. And cool screen name, Starkiller will always be one of my favorite star wars icons ?

Just glad to hear you're mending.
Little known trivia, starkiller was Luke's name in the original screenplay but they thought it too harsh for his character. But later used the name again because, well, it's awesome.

i took some time and made us an insecure, force encryption disabled, permissive kernel for pie. it's flashable in twrp. i also have a permissive, magisk rooted, busybox and su.d enabled & zip aligned & trimmed down stock pie ROM flashable in twrp for most cdma carriers if anyone wants to use it. fully tested and currently running buttery on my boost g6 play. If anyone using aljeter or jeter oreo needs help, send me a link to your current firmware and ill do what i can to help you too.

Kernel:
https://drive.google.com/file/d/1-3kNR_1rFR20ACbvJSrjFILieQ2Zq14k/view?usp=drivesdk

Jeter Pie ROM slimmed & Rooted:
https://drive.google.com/file/d/1S3zpvtZ3w7L2kyDnv_jC85H7EqY9mV7_/view?usp=drivesdk

I'll make a separate thread to keep this one on topic. enjoy ?

I could take the ret firmware for pie like yours and build a version for you maybe. you can certainly try mine but i don't know what will happen exactly. Please post on the ROM thread though so we free up this one. Send me a private message with a quick link to the latest firmware for your phone if you want.
