after spending about 4 hours proving to myself that TWRP 2.6.0.0 was being buggy and not working correctly and trying TWRP 2.5.0.2 as well, I installed this and the madness stopped. Thank you.

By chance is this going to be updated to the latest cwm base of 6.0.3.6? ROM manager is reporting that my current recovery is 6.0.3.3. Which I'm guessing is the base this is currently built off of. Just wondering :)
This is one helluva great recovery Phil!

I could be wrong but I read in his main thread that his phone was tearing up so he wasn't going to be upsating anymore.

You should quote all what you read
I never said I won't updating it.
Look at my github and main thread: I never pushed so many updates

But, with my semi-bricked phone, I cannot test most parts related to datamedia, so not compiling for many devices. Only 1 or 2
I added a donations counter in my signature. Still missing 100 USD to be back to compiling for all devices hopefully

Like the features of this recovery, looked around the forum can't find an answer to my problem. The recovery can't detect my external SD card

Maybe I chose an incorrect option, but attempting to do my first nandroid using this recovery, chose backup to external sd I think, no compression, not using exFat, backup is taking FOREVER... must be over an hour so far and still running. Did I do something incorrect? With all the options, it certainly seems possible...

Does your external SD have a slow write speed?

To be honest, I'm not sure... is there a way to check this (and what would be considered slow?). Nandroids made with TWRP recovery always seemed took take what seemed a 'normal, amount of time and my SD card (SanDisk 64gb) doesn't 'seem' slow to me.

I'm not saying there is anything wrong with this recovery, but if it just me this slow for some reason, I will have to switch back to TWRP, which I don't want to. If nobody else is having this issue with the G4 Sprint variant, there must br something wrong on my side and I just need to figure our what that is..

I loved this recovery too. But noticed the nandroids took forever to create (20-25 mins) where the latest cwm takes no more than the normal 5 mins

There has GOT to be something wrong here... I don't know if it is me, my phone, or what. Trying another nandroid backup, gets through /boot, /recovery, and /system fine. Then it gets to /data... so far the backup has been running 1 hour and 20 minutes and the status bar hasn't even reached the halfway point yet. Keeps running through a series of what looks like 8 digit hexadecimal numbers. 3319 of 5664Mb done. I really don't understand what could be wrong if nobody else is having this problem?

UPDATE: Backup completed in 102 minutes...

I changed the prefs from cwm backup to twrp backup and the backup then took 58 minutes. The log file for this backup is 80177 lines long in Jota+. Lines 12126 to 75857 are all 8 digit hexadecimal numbers. I've attached an edited copy of the log, which has the bedinning of the log, cuts to where the hexadecimal numbers start, cuts to where the hexadecimal numbers end, then cuts to the end of the log.

I switched back to TWRP recovery, backup took 29 minutes with a 3824 line long log file. TWRP did not include the recovery partition or the cache by default, but I am sure that has nothing to do with PhilZ taking so much longer.

Anyone?

Just got an S4, thanks to all users generosity
I will be working on it and release an update once everything is fixed
How's that update coming along? :p

I just can't get over how bad TWRP is on this phone! This recovery is by FAR the best I have ever used. Can't wait for it to get even better. :good::good:

I had this recovery in mind just a minute ago  great to see someone else was thinking the same. How bad is the current version? I was thinking of removing Twrp for it but I've read the backups are taking forever to complete
