Yes, apps are whitelisted. I can add only 3 apps to the whitelist - unit do not kill them when pressing home screen. But they are still being killed when unit goes sleep.
For battery optimization purpose it's better when they are being killed. I focus on auto starting them.
It's possible to configure any app as navigation and start it automatically.
With Macrodroid I was able to launch my "traffic assistant" application and send it to the background after a second. That's perfect, BUT sound is not being mixed well - any sound (audio warning) from this app kills radio & apple music apps (yes, it's whitelisted)
If I choose "traffic assistant" app as system navigation in car settings menu, sound is fine & autostart is fine. Unfortunately I cannot send app to the background, so I need to press home button manually.
It's the best configuration I was able to build so far.
Autostart list and sound mixable apps list would solve all my issues
