Hi guys...
Joying has recently been selling devices with Android 10.
Is it possible to install this version (Android 10) on my JY-UO134N4GS model device with Android 8.1?
ok many thanksNo. There is no Android 10 for the sc9853i and the CPU/MCU is different and incompatible.

Anyone? Just looking for information on how to completely disable an app. Or if you have other suggestions, I'm all ears. I'm also considering taking the car to the dealership to see if I can get the canbus repaired/replaced. But I'm concerned that this is going to be expensive (perhaps not). Thank you.Hello. I am looking for information on how to completely disable the CarInfo app on my head unit. I believe I have some sort of short in the Canbus interface for my VW Tiguan. The result is that the Air Conditioning status overlay appears randomly (usually only in the first 15-20 minutes of driving the car while it's warming up). This was only a mildly annoying problem. And long ago I have disabled the air conditioning overlay in the Car Agreement menu.
However, now I have the same problem with the CarInfo app. It randomly will appear just like the air conditioning overlay used to (usually in the first 15-20 minutes of driving). But the problem with CarInfo is that it is not an overlay. It takes over as the active window and creates other significant problems while driving. If there is a way to fully disable this app, I would really like to do so. It seems not to be an app that I can simply uninstall. Any thoughts on this? I am fully rooted by the way. Thank you in advance for your help.
The carinfo app IS the canbus app (com.syu.canbus), but just started by the default intent/activity instead of the background activities/intents.Anyone? Hi surfer. Thanks a lot for the reply. I was not aware that disabling this app would disable all canbus functionality. After giving this some thought, I think losing the steering wheel controls will be even more disruptive. Given that this car will soon be turned over to my wife (and I want to make it as wife-friendly as possible), I think I will investigate what it would cost for my local VW garage to debug and fix this 'short'. Thanks again for your reply. The carinfo app IS the canbus app (com.syu.canbus), but just started by the default intent/activity instead of the background activities/intents.
If you completely disable it, you will also completely disable all canbus functionality.
Is that what you want?
The latest stock rom is fine, although it still contains errors (like any of these chinese firmwares)Just picked one of these units up on Amazon for a bargain price.
Is the latest stock rom from joying good? Or is there a better custom rom I should be looking for?
Thanks for the advise. I think I'll stick with the main rom for now by the sounds of it. Ill just make sure to update it.The latest stock rom is fine, although it still contains errors (like any of these chinese firmwares)
There is no custom rom available. The udt team delivers modified apps and launchers, but I consider that simply as the same firmware with different layout and slighlty moderated launchers, but with the same bugs. If you like their layouts, this is a good option to go for.
You could even install a firmware from T'eyes on your Joying with some tweaks, but I would not advice to do that. It will cripple your unit as the "extra's" need to be paid for and as a Joying user, T'eyes will never allow that.
My personal recommendation is to use the standard rom and use some of the apps available here like the fytstarter and hwonekey (in case of hardware buttons on your unit) or the continued development of that latter one.
I used to be an active modder, but already for a very long time I use the default unrooted ROM with only the "extended" main app.
Thanks heaps. Just had a look and I think I'll just stick with stock firmware and apps for now. I don't plan to do anything crazy and this is my first android headunit so it's already a big jump from my old cd. Player.
Depends on the power requirements. There are powered hubs that can be connected to 12V. These are the best. There are many of them.Might introduce the tpms and dashcam later. Given that their are only 2 USB ports, are there any USB hubs you you would suggest?
Has anyone tried the root method reposted from the Russian site? Building up to trying it, but if it's been tried and doesn't work it would be good to know.
Since this a one of those things that people wanted , I am going to make a new topic to give full details...
You have to be rooted first..then go to the root directory, them oem folder, them in the config.txt you will see a line (i forgot exactly ) but something like..com.fyt.bt = "1"
set it to "0"
and then save and reboot.
if you have the new latest updates, the bluetooth setting in the android menu will disappear (at least on mine it did).. you can use a third party tool to show the bluetooth setting if you want to see and pair devices from there.
Or you can just use the conventional way .. (the default bluetooth app )
on the 4pa forum, I read if setting it to 0 doesn't work you can try different numbers up until 5.
Please give it a show and let me see if it works for ya.![]()
Does anyone have an idea how to totally wipe the unit? twipe_all doesn't seem to cut it. (I also pushed some LCD configuration from one of the older versions, but to no avail)
