Joystick Center Gold Troubleshooting in Galaxy Note 8.0

I recently rooted my Galaxy Note 8.0 knowing I wouldn't use it anymore. I have been trying to connect my Xbox 360 wireless controller to play some games, but I have been having a lot of difficulties. I have downloaded older or different versions of the Joystick Center (demo/gold). Everytime it reads the controller and it is functional but the editing of other game layouts doesn't. When I try to turn on J>F it gives me a message saying '/dev/uinput'. I have downloaded SELinuxModeChanger and I have looked for the file with a root browser, which isn't there so I tried downloading Ktoonsez kernel. It brings me to XDA Developers and gives me several links that don't work anymore apparently. Any help would be appreciate.
