Radio issue :
Have you tried to change setting under the hidden menu (with password 8878)? There is an option to change the radio region (Europe, Asia...) or something like this (i don't remember exactly)...

Key light issue :
There is also a setting called "key light" have you seen and tried it?
It's even not under "hidden" menu. It's somewhere under "car settings".

I have installed the FW from 4pda forum (this mentioned last time).
Works fine until now, but I have not played with it long, just like 1-2hours.
I am using nova launcher, but for those who wants to keep the stock launcher I see a potential disadvantage like in example missing additional home screens.

The light setting check under menu "others" and then "color light", i have it as enabled. See photo.
Later, also check in the settings (from android interface, somewhere in "car settings" I think), which color is configured , because it might be set to the one, which is very hard to see in your environment.
I have set the red color, which is matching to my mazda's cockpit
