I check the new version (v81), and the first contact is bad. The GPS doesnt works, and it keeps the problem that I can't log to my google account.

Now, I downloaded again the firmware from mediafire and now works, the GPS and google logging. Perhaps I have a corrupt image.

I should to do more test.

I don't think so because it's a zip file and the bin file is an archive, too.

Nevertheless great to hear it works, now.

Installed and tested. I can say it is more snapier, touch is more responsive. The new version introduces a new theme with stations switch buttons, which makes our life easier. Improved radio audio quality. The rest is the same.

Question: Is it possible to change picel density or resolution, as I got updated from seller rom, it somehow got bigger resolution and everything got small?

everything went fine with v81 UPDATE, screen sensitivity is better and faster....

I see a huge difference with v81!
The autolink app is v2.0.25 and it eventually fixes the sound issue with the radio!

I don't know, but google drive had problems, I have the two images, of I have time, i will compare the files.

But know it works.

Yesterday I installed a new head unit in the passat of my wife, and this works perfectly, I dont update the head unit, the firmware is FEB23.

Never change a running system. Especially if you don't want to destroy the WAF - Woman Acceptance Factor

That should be possible via adb.

First you should check if you can establish an adb connection:

ADB commands from mobile phone to head unit

If you want to execute ADB commands you can use a USB male to USB male cable but you can also do it wireless: 1. Activate USB debugging on your head unit 2. Install Remote ADB Shell from Google Play Store on your mobile phone...

For anyone who is into hacking and adding functionality into the software (via modding MainUI.apk) the latest version v81 they have done something so that the apk can no longer decompile properly and you wont be able to mod anymore. v61 still works fine in this instance.

My attempts to decompile the apk (< 81) not resulted in code which can be compiled again.

You can decompile it using apktool 2.5.0+ and recompile it again quite effectively. You can do some interesting stuff with this such as sending messages to the CAN to update your instrument cluster display to show useuful stuff etc, Or start your own services etc.

The way I do it is to compile my own service in android studio with added functionality i want and insert the dex code to launch the service into MainUI class, then add my own dex from android studio into the apk and boom.

They are not available, since Ive only modded it specifically for my car. However if you are interested in doing it I can give you assistance in greater detail let me know. Also, it would be great to see if you can get v81 apk to decompile but Ive had no luck with the latest apktools- it throws exception trying to generate the dex (smali).
