So I just upgraded from my Moto x Pure to the U11 (on its way now). Before it gets here I had a few questions.

How good is HTC about rolling out updates to Android OS (I'm aware oreo has already rolled out for this phone)?

How is the durability? I'll be getting square trade, but I'm still curious as to peoples experiences, mainly due to it failing the jerryrigeverything durability test (Not sure why anyone would want to bend a phone in half on purpose).

How is the battery life?

If there is a warranty problem how is HTC customer service with fixing warranty issues?

Thanks!

Not showing you away, but take a look at the Real Life Review section of these forums, and check the "Battery Life Thread" in the Guides and Discussions section. You'll get your answers there.

Basically, everything is solid, especially battery life, except the glass if it smacks on a tile floor...but who would want to do that?

The battery life has been the biggest surprise for me. I've had mine for 4 or 5 days now and despite the size of the battery on paper I find it to have the best battery life of any phone I've had this year including iPhone 7 plus and galaxy S8+. And that's from someone who plays a lot of Pokémon go while listening to music. Also while I mention music, my god do the Usonic earbuds sound amazing!

Lol I lost my Usonic headphones...and as an audiophile I wasn't really fond of them...currently I'm rocking Bluetooth ones and Viper4Android so I can choose the exact experience I want...

If you put an incipio case on it, it's a stiff as a damn tank...AND you can still use Edge Sense...Jerryrigeverything bend problem solved ! Plus, I can bend ANY phone made...so I don't get the point of that.

Here's my story...
I got my U11 in June, and the back case cracked while in my pocket as I was seated. Sent the phone to HTC repair on 8/23/17, and got a quote for $120 to have the cracked case replaced on 10/23/17. Two weeks later I complained about them having the phone so long, and on 11/23/17 they gave me a promo code to purchase a new U11 for free during their Black Friday promotion. To this day I don't know why they couldn't complete repairing my original U11!

I'm doing fine with the new one, - even took advantage of the situation and switched from Amazing Silver to Sapphire Blue; and the Oreo update showed up on 11/29/17. It just sucked that I was without it for 2 months before a resolution was made. My previous phone was the HTC 10 and I still have it. I used it while the U11 was out for repair. The lesson I've learned, however, is that the U11 is more fragile than the 10 since it's mostly made of glass. You have to treat it with more care and caution than previous phones that were constructed of aluminum frames. As a side note, I think this trend of glass backs is eventually going to cause a lot of headaches to consumers and manufacturers. Aluminum was much more durable. While I was using my HTC 10, I thought often about how nice it would have been if HTC made the U11 with an aluminum back instead for the sake of durability. They could have anodized the aluminum in colors anyways......

Regarding battery life, for frequent use the phone will last you the whole day. I use mine heavily and by the time I'm home in the evening I have a 30% charge. The U11 charges very fast with just a 10 minute charge (20% increase is what I see on average).

Hope this info helps! :good:
