Here's a question for the international variant crowd.

What (if any) fm radio app do you use? I'm not talking about streaming fm, but broadcast fm radio. I used to use Next FM on devices that support it until head phone jacks started going away. Since the mate 20 x has a headphone jack I thought I would give it a try.

Next FM starts and reports that fm is enabled (with headphones plugged in lest ye think I'm forgetting that :silly: ) but is unable to tune a station and crashes to the desktop. I'm unsure of is a Huawei / mate / or pie issue.

Any fm listeners out there?

There isn't a tuner in the phone sadly...

I need some serious help. I switched over from the Samsung galaxy s22 ultra. I have quite a few things working. YouTube seems to work. My Gmail itself (as far as checking mail). The pictures and most of my apps transferred over successfully. I have one major problem. I can't seem to use my Google account to login to anything or my Facebook account. It keeps saying network is invalid or something like that. The WiFi and signal are fine. I've tried updating and reinstalling the apps. I can't login to my audible. I can't chat with a representative on amazon when necessary. I am so confused. I have both Google play store and the Huawei gallery app or whatever it is. It won't let me create an account. Same message. Something is invalid.

I guess you have a chinese version. I don't know how the google services are suported on your version. You should ask your question in a thread for your version, for example : https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/guide-mate-20-x-chinese-version-for-use-outside-of-china.3859510/

I have the global EVR-L29 version and no problem with google accounts in this version because it fully supports google services.

I have to agree with this comment. The grainy description had me rolling eyes too. Grainy? you must have the eyes of a hawk

I'm looking at buying the 20x tomorrow from wonda mobile but having read through another thread on here I have no idea what version to get. I am in the UK on EE any help would be great before I order the wrong one thanks.

Global without question... Don't put yourself through the hassle. Also, I would recommend buying from Splendor over wonda mobile. Pricing is way better with fast FedEx shipping. They also have the 128gb NM Card and M-Pen for the low ;)

Why did you sell and go for the international model?

I'm still uncertain about which one to go for.

Being my dream phone (I've been waiting for the perfect phablet like this since the Sony Z Ultra!) I can't compromise a seemless user experience just for 2 extra gb or RAM on the Chinese variant. 6Gb/128gb is definitely more than enough. If I really need the extra storage later, I'll get the NM Card to expand it. I mean they still selling the pixel 3 with a measly 4gb/64gb LOL. Anyway, I don't know why anyone would willingly make it harder for his or her self and sacrifice a seemless Google experience for a science project (the Chinese variant) just to get it to somewhat play nice with Google and other apps. Save yourself the trouble and buy the Global model. I don't know anyone who regrets getting the EVR-L29, but I do see many people who show some problems they are facing with the Chinese models. I know it's cheaper, but who wants the almost perfect phablet with a troubling software experience. So yeah, Global version wins hands down! I want ok google, Google pay, notifications, and whatever else working as seemless as possible. Hope this helps...
