Give us a report after you deliver there. I am wildly entertained by this thread. Makes time pass by. Still intrigued by Han Solo's sitch. Waiting for him to get the vzw email he alluded to...

Please let us know. I've been following this thread from day one. I won't cancel a pre-order because I believe I have a bit more patience, after all, its only over a week wait. I've waited longer for the HD MAXX.

For what its worth, I believe all you did was pass along some information. Good or bad, you passed it. I have my hopes up too but it is what it is. I believe that you have no control over the quality of the info, you are just the messenger. I don't kill the messenger.

10/10 WILL come and it WILL go. Phone or no phone. Everything else, is just fodder.

I would be interested in knowing what happened though and I do find it interesting that there were some other people who confirmed what you were saying on other levels.

Me too.

As you all can tell, I'm sure the OP was sold a bill of goods, but I really was told to expect a shipment "momentarily" and that I would get an email.

I'm not holding out too much hope, though, because the guy was from the fraud dept, not sales. He probably makes a thousand calls per day, double checking shipping addresses if they are different from the normal billing address, so he probably didn't even care/see which phone it was.

Well. No tracking number. . No update on order status.. just canceled my order... Thinking about ordering a Iphone now.. Got lied to about everything.. and I am sorry guys.. My happy asz is rolling on. Wish you all luck with Verizon over priced bull****.

No update here yet either... but isn't it still a little early to totally give up? Maybe I'm overly optimistic... still hopeful at least.

I'm more worried about the glitch orders and whether or not I'll have to return it to keep ULD.

Keep us updated EZ, I for one appreciate your info even if it wasn't 100% correct... leaks never are.

I spoke with Verizon Customer Care manager this morning, I attempted to cancel my pre-order and the manager asked "how can I change your mind" (FYI I opened a new line). I told him I was going to AT&T because their released date was 10/4, he stated he's aware of that but tried to sale me on Verizon having the best coverage. He offer to waive my activation cost and give me a $15 credit. I asked him if he would overnight my phone for free and he said sure, he advised it will not ship until the 8 regardless if you paid for overnight shipping. He advised he's 100% sure about the shipping date as they had a team meetings because they continue to receive calls... Sorry to destroy our dreams of receiving the phone early.....

If the OP wants to redeem himself, get us that root and bootloader treat as you stated :cool:

I knew it. Glad I canceled the glitch order and kept the full retail one.
The wording on that tweet is grey in and of itself. "Promo pricing" could just mean promo codes like VERIZON30 and FIFTYRMN. It doesn't mention subsidized pricing at all. I've asked in the thread for clarification.

I hear you about the full retail order. I have both of mine still active and waiting for an official word today. Verizon HAS to make an official statement today because they have a TON of charge card authorizations from the weekend and have to update their books.

Some People actually have full time jobs and no time to drive out to stores to pickup phones when they can get have it shipped
on the same day as release, perhaps a day or so earlier while saving the aggravation of dealing with people at the store, traffic and gas.

The 8th works for me! I had a ship date of 10/10 getting it in my hands by the 12th ... the way I see it, I get it 2 days earlier then expected!

so whats the point in preordering if you get it the same day as the stores.
The point of preordering is to ensure that you will be actually getting the phone when it's released, instead of the chance of the phone being sold out or put on back order. I don't think it necessarily means you're going to get the phone prior to the actual release date.

i work 50 hours a week and i could still make time to go to a store....now dealing with the clowns at the store is another thing.

I agree ... I have never done a preorder before and likely never will again. I'd cancel mine and just grab it in store on the 10th, but I'm still holding out hope Verizon honors the unlimited data upgrade glitch :fingers-crossed:
you will get preorder a day early that is all. preorders all usually come 1-2 days early. other then that no gain
