So why did they release the HTC One so late?

Man, this has me psyched!! I was excited for this device even if it was locked down ... but knowing there is potential for the bootloader to be unlocked is huge!!!

Bro I can't wait to get my hands on that thing. I had a chance to play around with it the other day.. what a beast it is.. loads little faster then the note 2. Jelly bean 4.3 liquid smooth. SPEN new design is a freaking killer. Not to happy about the camera. Should have been designed little bit better. Like 20 pixels instead of 13.. Sound quality is way better then note 2.. looking forward for blue tooth 4.0.. I was trying to get info about why they didnt get 64 instead the 32.. Something to do with the fcc

Are the phones shipped for overnight or 2nd day delivery?

If the N3 camera is at least on par with the S4, I'll be happy. I don't know why the FCC would get their panties in a wad over 64 GB, but whatever

Because Verizon is in bed with Motorola since the Droid line came out. They were stalling the One release until the Moto X, Ultra, Maxx, and Mini were ready to come out.

I have been trying to order the Note 3 on Verizons preorder page but it doesnt seem to allow you to checkout with just the phone, its like you need a plan with it, does anyone know how to pre order the phone only? I already have a plan, I just want to upgrade my phone. Also has anyone been able to get Best Buy to price match a local Verizon retail store?

If your a Verizon customer, go into your "My Verizon", and either order a new line or upgrade your present handset. That's how I did it to upgrade my Galaxy Nexus. I ran into the same problem your having doing it the other way.

You need to add a new line, with its own number, pick any plan. As long as you buy at full retail on Verizon, month to month, there is no contract. Once you get the phone, activate it on your line and they will drop the new line with no early termination fee, because there is no contract.

I just did this today, with preordering the Note 3, triple checked with three CSR's before I felt comfortable enough to do it.

This way I get to keep my unlimited data.

I see, so there are a few different ways to get the Note 3 like that. I was thinking, wouldnt it be easier to just go to the Verizon store on release day and buy it there? At the moment I cant change anything on my account because it is in the process of being converted over to the prepaid plan for $60 month instead of the share plan for almost $100.

That's what I'm doing. I don't trust the online process to preserve my unlimited data, so I went to a VZW store today to preorder. The manager said he didn't expect a shortage of N3s (unlike a certain *other* phone that is shipping in limited numbers to artificially inflate demand), and there should be no problem getting one on release day :thumbup:
