I am coming from the HTC Evo OG and the HTC Evo LTE and was a flashaholic on the OG Evo and was wondering if the flashing of roms for the S3 is the same or is it a little different? I am a newbie to Samsung so please dont flame me for asking.

Flashing roms through custom recovery is pretty much the same across all devices.

what's different is that rooting can trip a internal counter, and modify the About Phone/Status page to note very obviously that the you have Modified the phone (look at the bottom of that page if you haven't rooted it says Normal, and Modified if you have. I understand that this is going to be corrected (worked around) but it hasn't as of yet.
Nope, my phone says modified.
The CWM root via ODIN doesn't have anything to do with the Triangle Away. I don't feel like the first ATT user to use the Un-root file, though the instructions imply that it should work.

Oh right sorry, I did read about needing to unroot and then reroot to have that go away. Oh well haha not like I have warranty support in the US anyways.
There's a clean re-root that won't trip the flags?? Where? The stuff is changing here so fast, and the integration of the 3 forums is confusing at the moment.
Sorry, I have the international version I forgot which Q/A I was in haha. I am pretty sure I read there was a way for our phones to be unrooted then rerooted to remove the *modified* message but I'm not positive it would be similar for the S4 variant.
