I live in a hot environment (100+ days of 100°F/40°C and some touches of 120+/50°C). This somewhat concerns me. I am looking at the OP9Pro too.

Do you game on your k50g/pocof4gt? If so, is it too hot? (Specifically cod mobile is only game I play) Does it lag or shut down etc?

I'm also looking at the k50 Ultra/Extreme but they're not in the USA yet. Ship from China

Avoir sd 8gen1 and get the new 8+gen1, thr first one is samsung manfactured and the second is tmsc's, huge difference in thermals, i can tell that because i used both soc, if you really wanna a powerfull phone with support and easy to root unbrick etc.. Get the rog phone 6, its day one unlockable and rootable and even the edl firmware is realed after only couple of days

I got this score with my POCO F4 GT:

I am using a magnetic cooling plate and a magnetic cooling fan, Plextone EX1. It cools down really quickly and goes really low in temperature. The cooling plate that is attached to the phone increases the cooling area from the fan that is attached to the plate. It cools the phone from 40 degrees down to 20 degrees. So it makes a big difference when it comes to performance and endurance. It also increases the lifespan of the battery and charging the phone goes faster because the battery doesn't overheat with the fan and cooling plate working on the back of the phone.

I was aiming for the rog 6 too but the price dont helped me so i took the realme gt 2 master, im not a big fan of redmagic because of the software support, unlike the rog 6 who gets monthy updates + you can easily unlock it root and switch btwn firmware+ edl firehose files are released quickly+ it has 3rd party support because it is well used in india

I added AnTuTu as a game with the Game Space and use these settings as seen in the screenshots. I also let the fan cool down the phone to the lowest temperature before running the benchmark.

I plan on rooting the phone so I can tweak the performance even better, but I have to wait for a week before the Mi Unlock Tool can unlock the bootloader. If you have root then I recommend LSpeed, SD Maid Pro and 3C Toolbox Pro. Oh can't wait to be able to use Viper4Android with my Crusher EVO headphones, that combo is like HEAVEN!

Hi, i can answer some questions.

1- YES, you can block with adb commands.
2 - The only way to backup all important files its with TWRP and select backup.
3 - No, if you use official roms you can't update automatically but can update downloading the update file (zip file) but after upgrading you will have to re-patch the boot.img file to be root.

My goal is to have root permissions.

When I get this I would like to backup from recovery to be safe and be able to use it if I mess up within the system having root permissions enabled.

Can I do this from recovery?

Here's a solid method to root the phone and install TWRP Recovery Mode:

First you have to use the Mi Unlock Tool to unlock the bootloader. Before doing that you have to go to the developer tools section and click on Mi Unlock Status, there you have to add the current Mi account to be able to use the Mi Unlock Tool, note that after adding the account you have to wait for 7 days before being able to unlock the phone.

You can get the Mi Unlock Tool here:

Extract the zip file and in the folder you have the fastboot program and the fastboot driver installer for the phone.

Here you can get the latest TWRP file for the phone: https://androidfilehost.com/?fid=14871746926876823387
Rename the TWRP file to TWRP.img and move it to the Mi Unlock Tool folder.

You also have to install the proper driver for the phone so the computer can use the fastboot for the phone. Boot into fastboot mode and connect the phone to the computer and run the driver installer.

After seven days you can run the Mi Unlock Tool. You have to sign into your current Mi account with the Mi Unlock Tool and verify the account with either receiving SMS verification or Email verification. Then you can boot the phone into fastboot mode and run the Unlock process. After finishing the process, the phone will be wiped and rebooted.

After the terminal has opened, type fastboot devices to be sure the phone is connected. After that type fastboot boot TWRP.img, that will boot the phone into TWRP. Now you can click on the Advanced section and choose the Install Recovery Ramdisk and choose the TWRP.img file to install. At last go to the Wipe section and choose Format Data.

You can update the system by using the default native system update manager. Just flash the TWRP file with the Magisk manager afterwards before rebooting the phone and flash Magisk choosing flash into inactive slot. Then you can reboot without loosing root or TWRP.

Right now I have to wait 7 days to be able to unlock my smartphone.
I have followed your guide.

One question I want to ask you.

When you say that you can update the OS through native system update manager, then from Magisk I have to flash TWRP recovery then again from Magisk that I have to flash Magisk.zipper both on the inactive slot, example if I flashed on slot A the first time I have to use slot B. ALL BEFORE REBOOTING AFTER UPDATING THE DEVICE.

Is this the correct procedure?

yes, you only has to put your device in fastboot mode and run the code in CMD. You lost all your data, don't forget to flash a miui rom before just in case.
