Google market update is not working in the latest cherry. The wifi and network connection bars used to turn green when everything was ok. Now they dont do so. They stay white in colour. I can access the net through wifi and even the market shows all the updates and programs, but you cannot download anything. Update gives "error in downloading error".....any clues???

same problem here, with play store

the solution in my case in to download a recent version of it and install in manually. reboot. now should it works

you can download it here: http://www.androidpolice.com/2012/11/17/download-latest-google-play-store-3-10-9/

Build 20121126

About Build 20121126:

No problems so far, although there is already another version out (20121203) which I haven't installed yet.

FuZZ_:

I have a request.

Could you consider adding this fix to your release: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1458285 ???

I'm not very knowledgeable about android, but am I correct to assume that whatever files in /system are updated when I update with your Kang? If I'm correct, I'll have to redo the GPS patch everytime I upgrade your ROM, but if you could include the fix, our lives will be easier. :D

Side Note Warning - Important:

If any of you are planning on updating to CM10 by Quarx, beware that the downgrade is possible but will likely require some work if you encounter the same problems that I had (stuff like "Can't mount /DATA" error/warning).
I upgraded from FuZZ_'s CM7.2 to CM10 by Quarx and then decided to go back to FuZZ_. Well, I had to flash a SBF all the way from the beginning, root again, install CWM again until I finally could restore my nandroid backup. I'm not criticizing Quarx at all, but just warning that downgrading CM10 > CM7.2 wasn't a simple job for me. It's perfectly doable, but requires some time and patience.

Not really so.....I also faced the problem but instead did a cache wipe from stock recovery.....beware.....no data wise must be done. Only do cache wipe.

Thee enter custom recovery again and flash cm7.2 again as usual.

I did all the wipes but my problem persisted, so I guess this is a mixed bag. Well actually I didn't flash CM7.2, but tried my nandroid restore. My multiple wipes didn't rid me of the errors/warnings anyway.

It would have been easier if I were a dev, but its no use crying now. I've already walked the long path, hehehe...

Just happy everything is working now as it was before.

i'm trying the new version (CM7.2-20121204.0029-SKANKY-Defyplus).

So far, I only got a error with battery status and bandbase switcher, but those are known issues from patches, not specifically from Fuzz_ builds.

About this problem, next time, try fixing the permissions on the Custom Recovery. Worked to me last time I had some errors.

And why? I mean, what do you expect from it? I'm currently experimenting with it, but at the moment, it seems like a pointless exercise to me.

It's so stable but we can expect greater performance with kernel..the one thing which I feel cm7 is lacking is, less number of governers and schedulers..adding some is surely worth it..

I ll volunteer for testing cm7 kernel

To be honest, I have been wondering how much performance boosting I could expect if I tweaked kernel since I have never tried that.
Anyway, perhaps I might give it a shot for make sure of it,if I had extra time.

I think CyanogenDefy team already done, when it comes to governors and iosched.
It seems good enough to me.
