Karbonn A9+ Development thread

Hi there!
It's Droidiser again. Saw there wasn't any development thread for the Karbonn A9+, so the users couldn't get together and work for some development on this device.
A quick overview of the device first:
1 GHz dual core processor
10.1 inch capacitive touch screen with 480x800 resolution
5 MP front camera

Ah, you can find the specs eveywhere, let's get to the stuff you will find nowhere:
Update: Rooting guide for Karbonn A9+ :laugh:
Just like Karbonn A11, these steps will work perfectly on Karbonn A9+

1. Download Bin4ry rooting tool from his thread.
2. Install drivers on your windows pc using pdanet.
3. Connect your phone to your pc.
4. Unzip Bin4ry's tool and run the RunMe.bat batch script.
5. Follow the instructions that roll in the command window and you will be done.

Let's see if some developer ports cwm or some other custom recovery to it.

Is anyone facing issue with capacitive buttons if the phone is kept on a table or any surface not in hand. Mine work if I am holding in hand but hardly register a touch if kept on a surface. Start working again if charger is connected on surface. Screen is also less responsive on table/surface.

Even i am eagerly waiting for CWM or any custom rom.
I searched through lots of forums but didn't get anything.

Thanks droidiser, rooted the Karbonn A9+, also just to comment in the Instructions, add an instruction NOT to "Run as Admin" the "RunMe.bat", causes "File not Found" Errors in the Batch file, another thing would be to also update it to the latest version. Hope this helps other people trying to root the device

Hi anyone checked if the Karbonn A9+ supports ext2 partitions?

I've already uploaded the working CWM recovery on my kernel site here:
http://intersectraven.euroskank.com/recovery/Flare

It's not flashable yet since it exceeds current maximum size of ~10MB so you can only use it using the fastboot boot command. Also, a nandroid doesn't work yet since it seems to reboot midway. Everything else seems to be fine although I haven't tried the more dangerous options like wipes, formats, etc.

Checking on this development Kudos! to intersectRaven. Now is there anybody there the can check to see if this is working and try to repartition it to make it smaller? It is confirmed to work with fastboot. I'm having difficulty creating a system dump from my unit so that in case something goes wrong I can always go back to stock firmware..
