how to know what is latest official update for my phone? by imei or something..
i use to get ota updates very fast, but after motherboard replaced under warranty few month ago there was not sigle update since then....
i'm on v20g-eur-xx, security 2016-07-01 and there is no ota or lg bridge updates for about 4 months now...
is that normal or something is "stuck" on my phone?

At LG it is unfortunaty normal.

You can find out which fw is the latest for your phone for example on devtester.ro where you can write your IMEI and it will find and eventually even download the the latest fw for your phone.

when i enter my imei on that site it says that is nothing for my imei.. wtf?

is there someone who got like mine ver v20g eur-xx and no updates for few months?
how risky is flash some other official rom? does it matter if bootloader is locked or not?
after flashing another official rom, official ota updates for that rom will keep coming normal, no flashing needed again?

Hm. That's weird. When I bought this new phone, I was not able to download FW via my IMEI like you said so maybe is this a server problem?
And if you use LGUP and download another official ROM, it doesn't void your warranty so you can do it. Bootloader will sray same no matter if it is locked or unlocked. It won't change anything.
And yes, if you flash another official ROM, you will still be able to get OTA. It's not like Samsung devices where you must have CSC for your mobile etc.

The latest eur firmware I've seen is v20i so you can flash that no problem as far as I know, see thread here. It's what I've got running on my own phone with no issues.

You can try to look here using the IMEI http://devtester.ro/projects/lg-firmwares/. My IMEI does not yield anything.

I have the same issue tmihai, since LG repaired my phone a year ago.

Unfortunately whatever they do messes it up, so now I have to update with these firmware updates every now and again on the site, which leads to a whole host of problems (e.g. the UK Three one I have installed crashes when I try to open Phone settings, and has a permanent Voice over LTE/4G even though my SIM doesn't support it).

It's a nightmare.

Really? Read the thread! The exact problem and solution has been posted in this very thread you replied to!

By replacing existing LGUP_8994.dll with the one from above https://yadi.sk/d/UZOYU_WP3Azr4o I could flash it. Make a backup of existing dll from c:\Program Files (x86)\LG Electronics\LGUP\model\8994\. Enjoy :)
