Flashed v1.3 of kernel on stable march build and phone worked fine for couple of hours but just now randomly rebooting itself every 1-2 minutes within boot. Tried disabling all the magisk modules but no help.

I was able to collect adb logs until phone rebooted but doesn't look like anything is logged in the logs.

There's issues with Magisk Canary 25210. Probably stick with stable 25200 for now

Update: I'm running Kirisakura kernel v1.3 and powerhint v6 on my P7P! So far everything is fine, no issues booting.

Thanks again for everyone and their hard work! I also appreciate the quick responses to my dumb questions. I'm often hit and miss keeping up with XDA and development here. Although I've always been rooted, this is my first time ever flashing a custom kernel!

There's issues with Magisk Canary 25210. Probably stick with stable 25200 for now

shifted magisk to 25206 version with kirisakura 1.3 now. will monitor how it goes. no random reboots so far.

Flashed v1.3 and updated Powerhint module on stock march firmware yesterday. Using Magisk v25200 and it's been running flawlessly!! Thanks for the amazing work!

I always keep disable verity and disable verification checked in Pixel Flasher, since every time you flash, this needs to be set. So next time I use Pixel Flasher it's just there. If adb shell has root in Magisk one can just patch the kernel boot even if Magisk is hidden, and then flash the factory image with the patched boot.

For the kernel I uninstalled the outdated power hint module in Magisk, flashed latest Kirisakura kernel using Franco Kernel Manager, the app auto reboots the device. Then I flashed the latest power hint module in Magisk and rebooted again.

I suppose it doesn't matter the order, since I always flash the Powerhint Module first

I flash the kernel in FKM without rebooting and then flash powerhint in magisk and reboot in magisk.
Just sharing.

I guess you're right. I just explained what I did and all worked (I was lucky being on Magisk stable and platform tools 33.0.3 and not above... not messing my device up like some folks did these days).

As all this Android stuff gettin more complicated all the time sometimes I'm like

Flashed the powerhint module then the kernel with Kernel Flasher, the system failed to boot and suggested me to do a factory reset. F...

Edit: Reflashed the factory image without any editing related to vbmeta and now it boots successfully. If it's something with the powerhint module then I guess the problem might be with this issue (which has not yet been merged by topjohnwu): https://github.com/topjohnwu/Magisk/issues/6688 ?

I was using an older version of Magisk Canary bc of this issue. Don't know if that was to blame.

BTW now that I have vbmeta verity enabled, do I have to disable it first to flash this kernel after everything is sorted out?

Eventually got it running... Here's what I did for reference:

1. Use PixelFlasher, clean flash the factory image with disable verity and verification toggles on.
2. Root with Magisk stable!
3. Flash the kernel and install the powerhint module v6.

Everything works fine now.

yes, flashed powerhint 1st (already uninstalled previous version), not restarting, then kernel with FKM, then restart.
I havent tried cleanslate app yet.

nice, so latest magisk delta seems to include the upstream magisk patch that fixes broken module loading now.

To avoid any confusion. Official magisk canary 25210 still has this issue not fixed, and it´s advised to either use magisk 25206 or stable magisk.

I am right now on vaccation and cannot flash my phone right now, can someone please link me the stock kernel for flashing via Kernel Flasher?

The phone is almost unusable, it worked 1 day flawlessly

Not sure if it's the kernel from the description. Usually kernel issues don't start to happen out of the blue if the same scenario worked before.
Did travel for work yesterday, and I guess I used chrome for 5+ hours.

I'd be very interested in the contents of sys/fs/pstore after a crash, before you flash back to stock.

Didn't you backup the partitions mentioned in the FAQ with kernel flasher before flashing?

Workaround (use at your own risk, restoring partitions via fastboot/fastbootd is recommended like in the FAQ, if your phone doesn't boot and there's no PC you're stuck):

Download factory image, extract boot.img, dtbo.img, vendor_kernel_boot.img and vendor_dlkm.img and replace them in my kernel.zip.

I've always wondered what the benefits of using a non-stable version of Magisk are. Unless it doesn't work with the current firmware, I think people should use the stable build!

magisk 25.2, latest build march, disabled verity & verification, flashed patched boot_init with magisk and fastboot cmd. flashed kiri 1.3 with exkernel manager then flashed powerhint module v6 - rebooted. WORKS like charm for 24hours till now. Thanks dev

this was my exact situation. On using Chrome first random reboot occurred. I switched to magisk 25206 from 25210. No issues after that, in my case Magisk canary was culprit.
