Great job Shaky

But I'm having some problems with the CPU going to sleep while playing a game such as Beach Buggy Racing, it kept going down around 200mhz, game was very slow, solved it by manually setting the CPU clock to 1.8Ghz, haven't tested any other game but this was somewhat weird.

Other than that the tablet feels very snappy, no battery drain, no WiFi issues
Try downloading it to a cloud first....use uc browser to cloud it.

Could someone provide an alternate download link to the custom 5.1 kernel? I've tried downloading it from the site mentioned in the first post but whatever I do the download just stops in the middle indefinitely.

I did download it through my PC then I transferred to the tablet, the MD5 is ok.

After a few reboots I'm having some serious problem, the tablet stays hot and drains the battery in a matter of minutes, when I check what's draining what, it's the Android OS using CPU time.

I have loads of disabled apps, could that be an issue? The tablet became unusable after this glitch.

Just an update, have reflashed the stock rom, heating and CPU usage issues are gone but introduced new problems with WiFi connectivity. Google Play seems reluctant to download anything and then suddenly works for a moment or so. Some apps aren't working properly like Titanium Backup which gets stucks "Searching for App Data".

Also some odd behavior with bluetooth that I couldn't disable and inconsistent battery level and charging status.

Cleaning the cache or removing/freezing nvidia services doesn't seem to fix anything.

I'm lost here, gonna revert to stock for now. Kinda sad because it worked so well when I flashed it first :crying:

Curious, considering the Shield Portable got an update for its 5.1 that seemed to fix the same issues that we had with our Tegra Notes, I am wondering if there was any chance someone could pull the Tegra Services from the Portable to Install it on the Note?

Not a full fix probably, but could it be enough to make 5.1 not require disabling it to get normal performance I wonder.

How to get this working when the entire EVGA Tegra Note 7 is blank...

Hello,
After having my entire Note 7 wiped after trying to root with Kingo Root, the tab is in a continuous boot loop. The only way to get out of it is to let the battery drain itself (never a good thing) or lift a battery lead... Once it re-powers on with Vol up, I can get into the screen that gives you a choice of Fast-boot, Recovery, etc., none of which works and then it'll go into the loop mode.

I've tried the latest version of Impactor to see if it could at least establish a connection with the device, which it seems to do, but once there it can't do anything, like Push SU temporarily... It sits there and spins till it says Impactor had to close unusually; that's what it said, and I believe it.

So, my learned Tegra Note 7 Guru's out there, can anyone give me some guidance as to how to proceed before I completely ruin this battery?

Thanks in advance!

I tried downloading the kernels I was interested in from the first page, but... First Nod32 notified me that it wasn't such a good idea to proceed to the website, which in itself wouldn't bother me as shaky156 is a very respected DEV on this site... But, when I went to the second site I opted to pay rather than download software I wasn't interested in, it took me to a site with a notice from Microsoft warning me I had been infected... So unless I hear from Shaky156 as to which site to use, I'll wait to download anything. I will pay for any software I use, I'm not looking for a freebe...

well I'm not shaky..but i might be able to help you....inorder to power of a TN7 at any state(Bootloop, freeze, recovery...etc) Follow my steps

1)Hold the power button AS LONG AS THE SCREEN TURNS IT'S SELF OFF.(About 5-6 sec).

2)As soon as the screen turns itself off Hold (POWER+VOL UP)this boots you to the bootloader.

3)Using the vol keys to navigate in between the option and power key to confirm selection, select the poweroff option.

4)YOUR DEVICE SHOLD BE POWERD DOWN.

REGARDING THE KERNEL I HAVE MIRROR FROM GOOGLE DRIVE...IF YOU WANT IT FROM ME.

NOTE:Full credits for the kernel is for shaky156

Now about fixing the tablet...I want to know if you are able to boot into fastboot mode

please note, the kernel is free and hosted on a free file hosting website, there is no payment required for the kernel, nor should any site with the kernel in this thread should require any payment.
