I haven't disabled last_kmsg, if an error occurs and system boots, make sure you have USB debugging enabled, adb pull /proc/last_kmsg

Hi shaky156, i was wondering if you are planning to put your kernel sources on your github ?
I'm currently working on HP slatebook X2 kernel, which is using Tegra 4 too, might be a good help.

Credits would of course be given to you for any commits coming from your sources,

I'm away for 10 days so shall be back in roughly 8 days, will upload my sources, you can use the source link to download and compile for your device too, it works

All I can say is FREAKING SWEET! I still hadn't unlocked my bootloader, but now I *finally* have a reason to void my warranty and get my hands dirty with this thing! Thanks so much... my games are all running a good bit smoother than before! Now if only Nvidia would do something about the 1280x800 HDMI output... if the Shield can output a 1080p signal for games, this thing should be able to as well.

One question, is the minimum frequency locked to no less than 1.122 GHz? I can't set it any lower than that, but I don't know if that's a limitation of the kernel or if it's just the CPU app I'm using (No-frills CPU Control).

Hdmi output supported at hardware level previously was 1080p but with this kernel it now supports 4k resolution output. The ROM side may need development for outputting 4k. I havent tested it.

There is no lock on frequency, my minimum and maximum frequency is set using set cpu app. Other apps i haven't tested and may not be supported

Well, in terms of output resolution, I was mainly referencing how the Shield, with its 1280x800 screen (same as the TN7) can output in Console Mode to a TV in full 1080p for gaming... that's the feature I've been waiting for since last November when this thing came out. I'm sure that would need to be done on the ROM level, maybe with some features ported over from the Shield.

Also, quick bug report, when using your kernel, I was unable to pair my Moga controller to the tablet, not in native Mode A or in generic HID Mode B, so I had to switch back. I also noticed that, even though I got better scores with 3DMark with the kernel, actual game performance seemed to suffer with a lot of stuttering and lagging. Maybe I should've played around with governors or something, but I just decided to stick with the stock kernel for now. I'll definitely keep my eye on this for updates, though... I do love me some custom kernels!

OP Updated with my kernel source with cpu oc gpu oc etc.

That sounds like ROM level. You can attempt using nvidia shield files if you want to test 1080p.
Cant diagnose moga controller issue without a log, same goes for game stuttering and lagging.

I managed to get a log (from /proc/last_kmsg) after a crash that forced my Tegra to reboot automatically after about a minute: http://pastebin.com/raw.php?i=fTrxCAvT

It seems this happened after my Tegra had been charging for 10 hours. What I did was simply unlocking it using my passcode.
charging a device for 10 hours? not really a good idea. Also t takes less than 2 hours to charge tegra note 7
Reason for your reboot looks to be touchscreen.

@ developers, Call this kernel a alpha, just to show what our device is capable of and ofcourse more can be achieved. This kernel will no longer be updated, but developers can grab the official source code from OP and compile.

I was wondering if this will work on the S7E because its based on the TN7
Well, since both the custom kernel and the original one are available, you should be able to give it a try without the risk of bricking your device (but don't hold me to that!), but I do know that the HP S7E isn't quite the same as the TN7, so my best guess is that it may cause issues or not work at all... I'm not quite sure what all HP did to the device, but I know that software updates for it come from HP and not from Nvidia, so there's clearly a difference on some level.

New Android branches normally bring new kernel requirements so their might be a possibility that this kernel will not work with Android L.

I don't know how all of you have been getting better battery life, my note drains it's battery a few percent in a few minutes. On balanced mode with no overclock apps installed.

Yes it supports swap, you need to setup and enable it yourself
Many thanks Shaky156 for your hard work.

I hope I'll be back at home very soon to test your new Kernel.
I'm wondering if it's possible to flash it with CWM (I don't use TWRP yet) and wich tools we need (you recommend) to get the best from all the new features.

Also, wich ROMs are supported (4.2, 4.3, 4.4)?
