I know. The thing is, is that is says i777. MIne does. Nothing changes and I use the same kernel and system and i never have this problem. One other guy had this issue too
I have this problem every update if I use the shift kernel. I have a copy of the kernel from the thread for slimsaber. If I flash that kernel just to use its version of twrp I can then flash your rom

I used the slimsaber twrp to flash your rom and left the default kernel/cwm. I checked settings and build.prop and everything says i777. I can go into your default cwm and reflash the rom without problem. I then flashed the shift 1.1 twrp kernel and boot the phone. Check settings and build.prop and everything still says i777. Go into the shift twrp and try to reflash your rom and I get the "failed this is an i9100" message. Build.prop says i777 but twrp insists it is an i9100.
How is this even possible if build.prop is correct?

Exactly. It's gotta be the recovery. I'm gonna update it. That's the only thing I can think of

Did you get twrp version from an i9100 source? That will cause that. Try pulling it from omni or mr-cook's zip
I have cook's. I just need to add it. I should have time tonight while I run the cm11 build

Any issues let me know ASAP
Flashed the newly uploaded kernel over the latest (7/6 CM11 build). After boot, the first message I got was "External Storage unexpectedly stopped". Then I got "Voice Dialer unexpectedly stopped." Then I rebooted, and those messages went away, and the phone seems to be functioning correctly. But then, I tried to go back into recovery, and it won't. When I choose the recovery option from the boot menu, I see the SGS2 logo, then it blanks out for about a second, then I see the SGS2 logo again, and it boots into CM11. Same result if I power off, and use the key press sequence to try to boot into recovery. Is there a fix for this situation other than resorting to Odin/Heimdall?

Okay, here's what I did:

(1) Extracted the zImage file from the 6/23 version of the RBK zip and put that in the same phone folder where where I keep my ROMS, kernels, etc.

(2) Used MobileOdin to flash just that kernel image. Even though I told MobileOdin to reboot into recovery, it didn't - it rebooted back into CM11.

(3) Said "dang" - because I thought it didn't work, but I checked the phone status and saw that the kernel version was in fact from the RBK.

(4) Used CM boot menu to reboot into recovery. Got the SGS2 logo, brief blank screen, SGS2 logo again, and then I'm back at TWRP.

(5) Said "yay" - because now I'm back in business.

(6) Wiped Cache, Dalvik and System.

(7) Flashed latest CM11, minimal Gapps, some "cleanup" zips, and the latest RBK (same file that I pulled the zImage from).

(8) Re-wiped Cache and Dalvik (mostly because it so fast and easy to do that from TWRP).

(9) Reboot to system (CM11) - we're good.

...The i777 is moronic.... I777 try this please. Have mobile Odin just in case. This is starting to piss me off...
When I got this phone, I knew that some phones didn't have a dedicated bootloader/fastboot environment, but I didn't know that some phones didn't have a dedicated recovery partition independent from the kernel. That was my bad. At least we have a workable recovery recovery procedure.

I will try the updated Shift kernel later this evening (unless someone beats me to it and warns to the contrary).

I'm sure I don't have to tell you what's worse than being pissed off - ha!

Lmao. Indeed you don't. Since I have the ST version I had no idea until render that our recovery was separate, the way it should be

What, no more suckers brave souls out there? Ha! The updated Shift kernel installed fine, booted into CM11 fine, and yes, it booted into TWRP just fine as well. Great job!
Yea I thought the same thing. 2 minute fix, geez hahaha. Thanks man. I'll upload all the new builds when I get home shortly

Jeez, sure is dead around here lol. Just wanted to drop in and say I started working again on this a couple days ago. Added more linaro optimizations and I'm working on touchwake/touchboost. I'll add some I/O schedulers and maybe a few more governors as well. Also I optimized zzmoove for our device in case I can't enable ALL frequencies from the CPU instead of just the 5 steps or so it currently allows. What I mean by that is right now for example it goes from 200 to 500 and can't use 300 or 400 for some odd reason. Hopefully I can change that but if not zzmoove will be better set up to handle things specific to kitkat and our device. Thanks guys, sorry it's been awhile. I'm willing to bet I'm more irritated by that than you but life is busy. Thanks again!!!!
