Still getting the slow down. When you're encountering the slow down, you can't do an ADB.

The slowdown will stop occurring after a few minutes if you just leave your phone alone.

Logcat doesn't show anything unusual. kmsg also doesn't show anything unusual.

I'll try Force GPU rendering and report back.

I'm using stock voltages and no overclocking (back to 267MHz).

actually the voltages are less than samsung stock when you leave them as default.
I was using 66MHz as the first step on beta4 and I raised it to 108MHz, but left the voltage at 900mV. most of the phones have [email protected] as samsung's default and some of them may not handle [email protected] I will increase the voltage of the first step in the next release and I'll leave it to users to undervolt by 50mV.
samsung stock values (2-step) are [email protected] and [email protected] for most of the phones (those may change depending on your asv value but then you'll see the respective voltage values after resetting stweaks settings).

I can run GPU at 66/108/160/267/400 at 800/850/900/1000/1100 and it "seems" stable... and CPU at 1.4ghz with UV -50, however this might caused that system crawl i experienced once or twice... currently i only have -25 for test and yes i know i should probably UV each frequency on its own but before there where 16 steps and i couldnt be bothered... maybe now ill test every frequency to see how low i can get....

However setting GPU to 400mhz does not seems to improve FPS in 3d antutu benchmark... i have 15-19 FPS on 267 and on 400 which is weird... but i did notice that VPLL indeed needs more voltages to run stable, got crashes with VPLL on, on above frequencies/voltages during graphic tests...

Confirm all.
At 400mhz gpu, voltage 1.150v is ok with vpll off. With vpll on this voltage is not enough.

Was testing VPLL mode aswell, in "epic citadel" it was completely stable with 520mhz. Normally in nenamark2 or antutu it freeze's immediately, so these tests seems to be "buggy" with VPLL on.

Was testing on cm10.1(mcm)
108-200-330-440-520mhz,
950-1050-1150-1250-1300mv,
80/20 - 80/30 - 85/40 - 90/50.

Btw is the default sampling rate of ondemand 30k? That might be unstable if u uv, but it's smooth with default settings=p

Media Scanner observations.

I posted this in the NeatROM thread, but am copying it here as it may be of interest to GM.

Some observations on the media scanner problems that may help someone cleverer than I.

1. Using NeatROM XXMS1 Lite + PhilZ kernel with XWLSD Media scanner fix zip installed. No excessive scanning and Media works unless rebooting from CWM recovery when there is no media found until normal reboot.

2. Using NeatROM XXMS1 Lite + Siyah 6 beta 5 with XWLSD Media scanner fix zip installed. No media found unless Rescan Media Root is installed and manually opened and closed after every boot.

One thing I have noticed - if you change voltage for the 4rd (267 MHz) GPU step to 1000 mV (stock Samsung value), but leave the 5th step (which should be unused because VPLL mode is off) on Siyah default value 330 [email protected] mV, GPU will max @267 MHz, but it will be using 1100 mV. I have noticed this while using Mali status app and Nenamark2. Even performed a reboot to recovery, reseted Stweaks from there, then again adjusted Stweaks and performed second test. So, the only way to use the Samsung default 267 [email protected] mV is to change the value of the 5th (unused) step to 1000 MHz. Could someone confirm this? Or confirm that I am a dumbass who doesn't know what he is talking about (which is not far from the truth)?

P.S. Using LS8 based Alliance ROM.

One more thing: is anyone noticing that Stweaks aren't always reseting values if you reset it from app? I've had that today few times, solved by reseting from recovery.

Yes can confirm this too, even when u set last up thresh. to 100%. I haven't tested if VPLL mode stays on boot(it doesn't with dorimanx),

perhaps GM could make an option(if it's possible) to use siyah4's gpu interface with 4 gpu step-count, clocks and voltages, and VPLL permanently off, and an option to use 5 gpu step-count with VPLL always on. (or something like that, it's just an idea.) some users say that having 5 gpu steps gave worse gpu performance(wether vpll is on or off), then we can test it properly

Remember it's just an idea, it's great to have GM developing for the S2, and I don't demand anything from him, this just a suggestion and observation=p

Wifi

I've noticed that sometimes wifi connection becomes unusable.
I can see wifi/3g icons on status bar become gray and net from wifi doesn't work.

I suspect that Samsung released broken wifi drivers (nothing unusual) once again.

When I notice that wifi icons are gray kmsg doesn't contain any useful information because it's usually too late and when I reenable wifi everything works and no signs of any errors/failures/suspicious entries in kmsg.

Is there any other place where I should check for such strange wifi behaviour?

I'm on CM10.1 but the same happens on XWLSD.

You can try dmesg (if it's hardware related issue) and/or logcat (if system/app related issue). This link may help.
