I feel you are entirely right, but, it doesn't stop people from experimenting, and exploring their curiosity, to achieve new things on what the vendor never intended the device to be used as. im sure people would only be on 2.5 with a performance govener for less than half an hour, knowing that overheating isn't good, especially on hardware that is probably going to be kept like a psp, but, when push comes to shove, when we want to say our soc can be pushed faster than what QUALCOMM has to offer, I would want to do that, even if the benchmarks aren't super saiyan, considering the clocks and the heat, that's my two cents, I totally get, not wanting to screw with shields ability to be full on console, by taking away the button mapping utility by porting cm on it, it just was "an idea"

any last legacy images (4.3) found, the update trick doesnt work and

the update trick I used with kwonggers toolkit doesn't work, now when updating from about shield, I automatically jump from 4.2 to 4.4, now theres no way to just stop at the update you want and go back to a desired update, does anyone have the last 4.3 images(all of them?) , now I cant revert to use the last updated version of this oc kernel,

They should still be available on the Nvidia development page. I don't have the link handy but I think it was posted a few pages ago in this thread.

Sooo I failed to make a backup of my boot.img, and flashed your kernel to no avail. I was wondering if you could point me in the direction of a stock 4.4 boot.img?

Does the kernel work for yourself? The OP kernel did work beforehand on the older update, but with your kernel it doesn't boot and its stuck on a bootloop
Works fine or I wouldn't have posted it (Side note: not claiming it's my kernel, just fixed external storage on the one posted above it). You have to be on the matching software version. I'm not sure what the update number is but it's the one before the newest.

That one isn't stock, though. There are links to the stock one earlier in the thread. That's what I was pointing to.

is t me or the 4.4 update isn't an upgrade?, the battery life seems worse, and so is the performance and support for apps, like rr3 which sucks, quadrant scores are worse

So its not the recent update boot img but the last update?

if you can afford to factory reset, use kwonggers toolkit to restore stock, and take the ota, youll be stock 4.4 with update 77
Why factory reset? The only thing anyone really released is a kernel. You still get the OTA and it gets downloaded to cache. Just open it up and take out the recovery. Update and install supersu. Update 77 without losing anything but 15 minutes.

Hi,

I tried booting the boot.img and I get a boot loop, I tried flashing it as well just in case to no avail, I was wondering if it's a kernel related issue with update 77 or something specific to my Shield?

To be clear this happens on any kernel i've tried to flash, the only working one is the one contained in the stock boot.img

Thanks,

Mike.

The stock one is the only kernel for 77

Nope. The weather was nice so we went out.
Your funny, but in all seriousness, is there a way to benchmark higher than snapdragon 801, anything?no new plans of kernels for kitkat, no flash able goodies to add features like entropy , that's what I mean by dead, I'm sorry I diddnt put that on the other thread
