since the release of kitkat, I've been using the MiRaGe kernel developed by mrg666. it is rock solid, lightweight, and without any noticeable flaws. the only major issue is users want the kitchen sink. may users constantly ask for many features to be added to a kernel that aims to be as lightweight as possible. My solution: add everything that i can get to merge in without too much hassle.

Kernel has been tested by me on AOSP KOT16H. It should also work on stock and other KK roms. probably not cm (cm support could be possible if there is interest).

About the name: according to the interwebs, most mirages are of an oasis or attractive women with minimal clothing. so i narrowed it down to "imaginary almost nude hot chick" and "oasis"

Features:
based off of the latest source from mrg (may lag behind occasionally. My wife doesn't like my face being in the computer 24/7. there is some saying about happy wives.... I should look it up)
Sweep2wake and doubletap2wake (disabled by default. enable in sysfs)
Gamma controls
fauxsound
kexec-hardboot
open to requests

what a name for a kernel :p Maybe you should call it Mirage+ or Mirage Refined

Sent using my nexus⁴ running Purity ROM 4.4.2 (Dalvik) powered by Piasek v6 KK Linux 3.4.0 kernel.

I was thinking about mirage+, but that makes it sound like an improved or better version of mirage, when its just mirage+randomcrap. maybe that should be the name.... or mirage+crap or mirage+stuffs

Just call it fox kernel then, the name shouldn't necessarily be related to MiRaGe, like jolie kernel which is semaphore + faux sound

Thanks for the thread, tvall. I am out of thanks for today, I will add my thanks to your OP asap. Regarding the name, you were using Magpie earlier. That still sounds good to me.

Magpie was the name of a specific feature of my rom, but it was apparently not well known in the optimus v community, so everyone assumed it was just the name of my rom.

My optimus v rom was based on iho sources, and its main feature was magpie, so I named it iho_magpie. Using that naming scheme, this kernel is based on mirage, and its main feature is random crap, so I could name it mirage+stuff

Would you consider adding franco gamma?

Sent speedily from my scurrying Nexus 4

Sure. Can you link me to a commit or patch? I'll work on it and faux sound this evening unless something comes up.

I was going to add faux sound yesterday, but I was distracted by the spacex falcon 9 launch. It was too cloudy to really see anything, but there was a lot more radio chatter than the last one.

I was going to post a new build last night with the latest changes from mrg, but my wife had a romantic evening set up that she surprised me with. It is now 5am, so I'm just going to roll back over and hug the beautiful woman sleeping next to me.

New build. Latest changes from mirage.

Also, this build was compiled on the same buildbox, but I was connected to it from a nexus 7 running linux
