It works fine for me. Try changing your ROM to xDoge's one if you didn't already.

Why would I upload a same build again with new changelogs?

Try Arnova8G2 apks, as they seem to work better with Redmi 5, atleast with doge kernel.

• GCam-5.1.018-Pixel2Mod-Arnova8G2-V8.3b1 is the one in which all modes work.
• Gcam_6.2.024_Advanced_V2.0.190420.0415 is the latest and has night mode but front cam doesn't work and just crashes [same with many other devices].

If you want everything to work, then someone has to start working on modding gcam's for Redmi 5. So I'm done with gcam issues as it seems to work now with the latest test build.

Changed to the latest test kernel and installed the arnova8.3b gcam still getting focusing issue along with flicker when I try manual Focus.

OK I was able to reproduce that flicker issue and it seems that its hal3 buffer error. I'll look into it.

Regarding gcam 6, the series of Gcam 6.2.xxx_MK_xxx apk's by marlin-ku seems to work better with this device/kernel combo.

In the latest 6.2.024_MK_056a, almost all seems to work except selfie cam portrait mode.

Necessary config changes for Gcam 6.2.x by marlin-ku:
1) Video recording resolution should be set to 1080/720p
2) HDR mode should be turned off for selfie cam

Just now checked with latest RR build and both snap & gcam [mentioned in OP] works fine.

Just now checked with latest PE build too and snap does force close with doge kernel. I tested with couple older kernel builds, and the camera still force closes. So I'm gonna say that its a rom specific issue and I can't help with this.
