Thanks! My phone doesn't even boot with the r2_1305 one.

Edit: Scratch that, I just got a couple of random reboots with r2_1228. Any help?
Try the 1113MHz one. There is nothing more you can do as your device doesn't seem to like oc.

Using this kernel (r2 1113MHz) together with KyleOpen ROM on my wife's phone and I must say that this is a great improvement compared to the system from Samsung.
Thanks for giving this phone another chance and keep up the good work.

The R1-Prime and all R2 are available with 333MHz GPU so you might give it a try. And yes it is possible to raise the gpu even higher than 350MHz but on cost of battery life. Maybe R2-Prime will have it ;).

Kernel effect on WiFi hotspot

I have a question guys, does the kernel has any effect on the phone's WiFi hotspot? Maybe the hotspot bug on PMP Ultra v.8.5.1 by @Mohitash can be remedied by flashing OC2 r2 kernel (to replace the ROM's built-in OC2 r1)? Just a theory though, as I'm not an Android developer..

By the way, maybe someone would ask why I suggested replacing r1 with r2, its because the previous PMP version (8.5.0) has the r2 kernel in it and no WiFi hotspot bug has been reported. Also, may I request @KlinkOnE to further improve r2 so that it would become more stable with PMP v.8.5.1 (Maybe lack of stability was the reason why r2 was downgraded to r1 in 8.5.1... just maybe).

Cant remember the r2 being shipped with any pmp-u version r u sure? I talked to mohitash and he wanted to test the r2 but this was after 8.5.1 was released. About wifi why dont you just try and report back here or in pmp thread.

I based from his changelogs for PMP v.8.1 (a mistake from my previous post, v.8.5.0 should be v.8.1):

In v8.1
  • Better/Smooth scrolling
  • Kernel updated to r2 version
  • only for default kernel users
  • Separate stock apps-
  • app manager
  • task manager
  • ram manager
  • Viper4Android updated
  • Some better build.prop tweaks added-
  • better scrolling
  • better signal and data
  • better battery
  • better video acceleration
  • better audio video rec
  • beter image qualtiy
  • VM Tweak
  • fast rings when dailing
  • frees up more ram
  • fater streaming
  • Hindi/ Marathi font issue completely fixed
  • Better speaker volume
  • Menu Unlock on lockscreen fixed

Yes, I'll try to flash r2 on PMP v.8.5.1 and report the results here and on his thread as well..:good:

Hi guys, I'm with stock rom, just rooted, and I'm trying to setup Link2SD, but it does not recognize ext2(3,4) partitions, just FAT32. If I install that kernel, Link2SD will recognize ext2(3,4) partition?

Ive done no changes over stock here so propably no. But why not give it a try? Backup first (modules+boot.img)!

I will try if this makes much of a difference with gpu at lets say 275MHz. Maybe i release it then.
Thanks for suggestion.

one question, the gpu oc is always at max freq or make scaling on needs? because if it makes scaling doesn't matter the battery drain, the Gpu uses oc only when needed like in games.
