edit: did you mean to switch off Auto Root after next reboot ? If so, then it did not help

According to toubleshoot the asix ethernet adapter in combination with dorimanx kernels I described below the steps taken and the results, also with some logging info:

1 rooted:CWM-SuperSU-v0.97
(Stock recovery)
2 PhilZ-cwm6-XWLSD-OXX-4.93.6-signed
(ClockWorkMod recovery)
3 Siyah-s2-v6.0b5-CWM
after that used some ko files for trieing asix eth support
4 tried to find Siyah Dorimanx v7.41 because read of eth support
Instead installed v7.46 and v7.50 first ko files do not work other kernel does not boot
5 tried latest supported v8.43 kernel for stock v4.1.2 s2 android
Present Ko files seems for v7.50, so it seems v8.43 does not have them included?
6 triedd early v8.34, ko files work, but udhcpc keeps requesting dhcp, after a while eth lights go out and phone freezes
7 tried v8.43 so eth ko modules of v8.34 are used: invalid module format
8 tried v8.42 till 8.38 as above same result, only with v8.35 the ko modules can be used
While using Dorimanx v8.34
I used the following commands:
Cd system
Cd lib
Cd modules
Insmod usbnet.ko
Insmod asix.ko
Disconnect usb and ethernet adapter reconnect, ledlights on usbnic will light up when network cable to switch is connected,
Ifconfig eth0 up
udhcpc
Then udhcpc keeps saying:
Sending discover...
Sending discover...
Until I press control c
When I look with dmesg it says:
(3)Asix 2-1:1.0: eth0: asix_rx_fixup() Bad Header Length
(3)Asix 2-1:1.0: eth0: asix_rx_fixup() Bad RX Length 1696
To me it seems that every message about Bad Length comes after every dhcp discovery/request.
Is anybody familiar with this kind of behaviour? And does anybody know how to fix this?

I am currently using SlimBean, but I am one of the unlucky ones that absolutely *can't* use the new Mali drivers inside the kernel. Apparently I can only use Mali V1, any other version completely freezes my device when playing some games.

I already downloaded the kernel source and built it (with no changes, just to see if it boots correctly), but I am not sure HOW to correctly build it, because the resulting zImage of the build just leads to a bootloop.

Any help?

firstly, the Mali version is both kernel and rom, so you'll need to modify rom as well
secondly, you can't run Samsung unmodified divers on custom roms
thirdly, wrong thread
and finally, what machine are you using to build, and did you read the readme

2) True, but there were earlier versions of kernels that worked for AOSP derivates (4.2.2 and above) that contained V1

no, v1 is stock, and is only used on stock
and if you don't want condescending answers then don't ask questions about things you could easily self teach in inappropriate threads
gl with your attempt I guess, and I wish you were less ungrateful for an answer that often helps, given I've had many many pms asking about building, and I troubleshoot just to find out that they didn't follow the readme

You have that option in stweaks just go on "misc" and reset fuel gauge

Isn't going to recovery advanced and wiping battery stats the same? Look in recovery directory if u can find a script.

I was looking for a fix to the bug that make sounds switch off when listening at low volume with headset since CM10 (no bug in CM9): http://forum.cyanogenmod.com/topic/73718-sound-switches-off-below-a-certain-volume/

Having looked at the 100+ parameters, I was looking for one parameter that would allow to have ringtone going thru speakers when headset is plugged.

> Stock ROM => ringtone always goes thru speakers when headset is plugged
> CM9 => same behavior
> CM10.x => ringtone goes thru headset when headset is plugged. Result is missing calls

Bug is described into JIRA-2162 (https://jira.cyanogenmod.org/browse/CYAN-2162)

I was wondering if anybody could tell me if there's a Kernel parameter for that ?
If no, any idea if this kind of behavior is implemented at Kernel level or at ROM level ?
