Instructions:

After Download extract the n7 folder from the ZIP. I that folder you'll find a file named menu.bat. Run it. Now make what ever choices you want to make but before that make sure your Bootloader is unlocked and USB Debugging is Enabled and working.

After you've unlocked USB Tethering and Installed a tethering enabled kernel you can go and enable USB Tethering after Plugging your Tablet in to your pc from Settings>More...>Tethering & Portable Hotspot>USB Tethering.

If you're a windows user and have done this for the first time you have to perform some steps before you can actually use the USB Tethering.

All these steps have to be performed keeping USB Tethering enabled.

1. Open up the device manger on your pc.

2. Find Nexus 7 under Other Devices

3. Riight click it and select Update Driver Software

4. Select Browse my computer for driver software

5. Select Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer

6. Scroll down, find and select Network Adapters and Click Next

7. In the manufacturer Pane Scroll to Find Microsoft and Select it.

8. In the Network Adapter Pane Scroll to Find Remote NDIS Based Internet Sharing Device and Select it. Then click next.

9. A compatibilty warning may appear, just click yes. Now you're done and good to go

I did enable the Tethering and above is the screenshot when I select "Tether". It stays like that for sometime and then changes back to the default MTP mode I guess. I am running stock 4.4 KRT16S. Is there any other information that you need ? I badly need this to work...

thanks for helping me out and appreciate your efforts :fingers-crossed:
did u try the third option, the one without kexec hardboot?

how is battery drain for this Kernel ?

I am looking for ROM and Kernel with minimal battery drain during sleep (not power off)

my current Tilapia, 4.4 stock ROM and Kernel is suffering from > 5% / Hr battery drain during sleep in airplane mode
