Yes, it's all right, not placebo.
Boot CPU DVFS temp was increased from 65 to 75°C with the hope to need less time for compiling odex files. 30 min is still long somehow. I could try to increase temp even more, but the heat it's not good for the battery. (Over that long time)
And honestly I've added that hotplug feature with the hope to reduce battery usage while streaming music with the speaker with screen off, but even with hotplugged big CPU battery usage is still high. So i've to assume that the battery draining comes from the audio AMP itself, since it has a very powerful speaker.
my phone ran out of battery after 13hrs 45mins
it was a pretty good day testing out the latest kernel + the phone with the real usage scenario :
i used bt audio omw to work, google maps for 1hr-ish, lots of whatsapp audio & video calls, 15 minutes mario karting, 1/2 hour-ish reading manga.. and it's on LTE throughout the day..
not the best battery stats but i tried using the phone without worrying about the battery level
