Works great on L/S CM 11 build.
Thank you, i didn't wipe anything just flashed it, all went well.
I was following your posts, and found only the kernel named as below:

dyn.Kernel-r4-CM-0319-ob.zip

Do you have the file name of what you installed? Mine (the above) installed, but did nothing new...

Thanks very much! ☺

Hi friend, I used the dsn kernel on page 17 (a personal build I think) from the OP.
But I'm now in L/S CM11 4.4.4 and see no need to flash the dsn Kernel.
Since Infected_ imported codecs for media and sound we now have a near perfect ROM :D
I have a backup off the kernel incase I feel adventurous.
But I feel no need to flash at this moment.
Maybe if another kernel comes out 4.4.4 compatible, I may Consider.
But for now I'm sticking with Infected_ stock kernel.
:)
Peace Bro

Unfortunately I cannot find the file :(
I have a backup somewere I will do a restore of file and upload to Dropbox.
I don't know if it's 4.4.4 compatible as I haven't flashed on stock L/S build yet,
it isn't much different from Kernels around for V500.
It's all practicly the same code just with certain tweaks.
Hope you have a good day.

Hi Liam,

Thank you for the reply. :) I was seeking some way of having more settings for I/O and no overclocking - but possibly a slight gama correction, but that is not a priority, as I never watch videos or play games on my v500. I just use it to update the stock market averages and the news and weather and I get a kick out of tinkering with the roms and checking out the various different setting options.

I'm like you - the CM by Infected is good for me! and I like to use the settings offered in settings and it is very stable.

If you do run across your old kernel and can up it to Dropbox and let me know - I would be grateful.

Thank you very much - and happy tinkering and flashing! :)

Hey buddy,
Good news I tracked the file down :D
https://www.dropbox.com/s/sqso2h7yl6qt4x5/dyn.Kernel-r4-CM-0319-ob.zip

I actually just recently flashed to this 4.4.4 build because I was getting random hickups in the interface,
Same process as before no wipes just flashed, all went well :D
I will continue to use this kernel on top of CM builds until I physically can't (Tablet won't boot) then I will look into other kernels.
Hope all goes well friend,
Report back if the flash went well, and if the kernel is OK etc.
But I think its the same as you linked to in an earlier post.
Its there anyways for your experimental needs ;)
Happy flashing!

Thanks!! :) I'll get back if it's different than the one I tried. Also will report how it turns out.

EDIT: It is titled the same as the one I had before...but still your effort is greatly appreciated. I uninstalled that Kernel because I was getting some strange boot flashes that stated something wasn't working, or something like that - at least I didn't understand what it said, and only saw it on a cold startup. So went back to my nandroid backup of Infected's CM latest nightly - with the stock kernel I see nothing happening. JFYI, I shut down instead of sleeping overnight...seems to work best and lets me see booting errors in the morning as I did with this Kernel that you provided. You might want to check a cold boot...it may have only been on my end.

Appreciate your time to find and post - very kind of you!

Sorry to hear it wasn't working right.
The error is maybe the 'secure boot error' maybe,
I will do a cold boot in a minute and see.
I'm sorry it wasn't working.
EDIT: mine booted fine. From a cold boot up.

I tried it also on infected cm11 and all I have to say that this kernel works better than stock kernel, especially regarding micro stutters with noisy beeps.

It's working well for me too now! We should ask the author of this kernel to keep at it! Below is his name on the kernel, or Oubeichen ~ he is from China if I recall correctly - but his posts are very frequent in this thread, so a PM might get a response:

Kernel Version
3.4.0

It does seem to save battery. Could the Ubuntu2 source be the secret, or is that common??
Also, I believe (and this is from a definitely non-programmer) that until the kernel version number changes - this present kernel (named above) will be OK with even the later versions of CM 11. At least we will know immediately when our tablet doesn't boot!

Regards!

Good to hear bud, I tend to play some games on my Tab and on CM11 4.4.2 it was brilliant. Very little heat, great battery and no slow downs. I hope 4.4.4 is just as smooth.
Seems this Build goes hand in hand with this CM ROM :D
I will add though I'm using it on Stable CM weekly releases.
(Can't comment on Nightly CM compatability but someone put it wasn't working ???)
Don't know if that's still the case though.

Yeah he is a Chinese Dev (I think). very talented also.
This Kernel is definitely better than stock.
(No offence to Infected_ he's a very talented programmer. Maybe it the CM source codes causing problems. Either way he's made an awesome ROM none the less)
This Kernel Build has fast charge built in but I haven't tested it. :( EDIT: fast charge doesn't stick, Tryed activating with FauxClock App, but the Dev did say it's not compatible with the FauxClock app. I just turn brightness right down when I charge it, does the job.
Yeah Judging by last CM build and The latest stable booting up with no problems. I'm guessing were OK for now :D
I bet Android L when it's ported to CM will have many many many differences in the source code.
But by then ART will be pretty much optimised and 'lag' should hopefully be a thing of the past. :)

Agree to all you say.
I'm running it on the latest Infected has up - which I think is the CM nightly 4.4.4 of the 11th of July...so it performs well on v.4.4.4 CM - Also JFI - I've been mixing some of Infected's optimized Roms with the downloads of the regular CM Roms, and they intermix just fine. Of course I always try during the week to use Infecteds' as they may be a bit smoother. But my point is - this kernel will run well on either, the stock or the optimized by Infected or intermixed. (I have yet to try and update by overwrite with this kernel installed - but I'm sure it will be OK, and then install this kernel over the one installed - but for safety, check the version of the Kernel on the original CM to see if it moved off of 3.4.0)

Great, thank you for confirming it works great Experimental and stable CM builds.
And that's what I have done, I just saved the kernel on a file on the internal SD, when I upgrade I just boot first to let it set then boot into recovery and flash the Kernel.
I think our next build will be the L build so I don't know if this kernel will still be compatible :'(
But the CM team done a great job getting ART running on ther ROMS so I'm hoping some great L kernels come in by the then, if this Kernel doesn't work.
Android L looks awesome.
All the improvements :D
Not to keen on the light colour theme though

I'll try and understand the change-log. :) This does really all I need it to do. I mainly want to see battery usage improvements...& stability improvements. Pretty darn good like this!! :good:

Which kernel are you guys getting good results with?
I've linked to my Dropbox mate further up the thread :)
It's a CM kernel confirmed works on CM stable and nightlys.
If your trying on Mahdi or CMB or any oher CM based ROM,
Backup boot in custom recovery so you can easily get back to your ROM if it doesn't boot.
