Any impressions from an actual user?
I'm also running it on Mahdi. It has been running very well. It is super smooth. Can't really tell what the battery life is like because I need to go through a few discharge / charge cycles. I had it undervolted to -75 and I would get random reboots just opening an app. I changed it to -50 and I was connected to VPN, downloading, streaming Google Play Music, and downloading tracks (pinning) with no issue. Hope that helps. Thanks to the dev for such an awesome kernel. :good::good::good::victory::

Are you using the stock performance settings in this ROM to adjust the under volting?

First off Thx @reborn90. Long time waiting for kernel development.
You can undervolt the lower frequencies more than the higher ones. 750mv should be fine at 384mhz

I am doing a test with this room and dyn.kernel. yesterday I ran a YouTube video on stock rom and averaged about 16% battery drain per hour at about 60% brightness.
Doing the same test now with this room and the New kernel with a 50 my under volt. It is hard to guess if u am at exact same brightness as the slider has no numerical values compared to the LG stock rom.
But so far after 30 minutes I have used only about 4-5%. This is a huge improvement during video playback. According to Gsam battery I would be getting about 9 and half hours of battery life compared to about 6 and half.
Now if standby time is as good as stock then I will be very impressed as the battery life which was a weakness is much better.
Now if we can get a gamma fix in kernel I will have a near perfect tablet (have the blue line issue).

By the way knock on and off feature works on this Rom . And by modifying the name in the systems build.prop from LG-V500 to LG-V510 you can then install and use the q pair app with your phone like the stock Rom

can u make a kernel for stock rom? thanks for this btw :)
First of all I want a stable release with all important features, after that I will think about supporting "older roms". ;)

Yes, the higher frequencies have relative low voltages compared to previous models like Snapdragon S4 Pro. But the lower ones have still similar voltages.

It should be, hopefully, the same standby time like stock, but I'm not happy with it. I see a lot of too high cpu time when it should be asleep and the dynamic governor settings are extremely conservative in this state.

Faux or Franco gamma/color settings should be portable.

Great news if you can pet this gamma features.
Well last night first night with this Kernel and Mahdi Rom battery seemed to drain 1%per hour which is not great add the stock LG rom would drain that amount in 8 hours. Will have to see what was keeping it awake. I see the email policies are different as I can set them to a max of 1 hour sync on I map vs. 4 or 8 hours

The problem is the "surfaceflinger" service, which kicks the cpu load to 100%. The reason should be an insanely fast looping request from something related to earlysuspend or lateresume. This happens sometimes while suspending the device I guess and also while charging.
I already found some lg patches inside the kernel which should prevent this behavior, but it is only partly working I think. I will do my best to fix this KitKat issue.

I am a bit new to the technical side of things. This surfaceflinger service why would it do that to the cpu but not in LG ROM?
Is there anything I can do in my settings or apps to minimize this waiting for a fix?

But what does it do? If it is well known to cause problems and manufactures seem to be able to patch it then why can't it be patched by Google

Surface flinger has been broken as long as I can remember, lots of patches from mfgrs and it still screws up sleep.

The service is now responsible for suspend and resume on rom side as far as I know, so battery consumption is normal and necessary, but not with 100% load for a short time. These are all speculations, I have to debug this.

So just to be safe here will this run on the Malladus rom ok?
I can't find the source code. Just backup boot with your recovery, lookup the button combination to boot directly into recovery and try it. And report afterwards please. :)

Thank you, good work ! All we need now, is the possibility to adjust gamma so the gpad excellent hardware would finally get the software optimisations it deserves.

The kernel sleeps pretty well if you ask me. Not great, but better than lg.

My experience is different. Stock Kernel could go all night in standby losing just 1%. I am losing about 1%per hour with this Kernel on Mahdi Rom

Like the normal 4.4 kernel ;) I have problems getting the debug tool "ftrace" to run. :( Good times.

Latest update. Overnight sleep without magnetic unlocker apparently with Google plus Greenify led to battery drain of 1%for 3 hours. Definitely better but still not as good as stock
