Yeah, I was seeing what happened if another kernel was flashed on it, and when it booted all of the colors were off and graphic glitches all over

so then it boots!!
Woo @Demetris will be happy, now its just the matter of reverting some of commits here https://github.com/CyanogenMod/andr...mmit/6580f50c36facacb6896a242a7fa29b02549de0a mainly the retire fences portion iirc...:D

However flashing it over Mahdi worked fine

Sent from my HTCONE using Tapatalk
because the latest update uses CM as base...;)
anything that uses CM as there base will work with this kernel, which is mainly why there are two options for dyn's kernel, the biggest difference will be the iirc the retire fences portion

Downloading now to try with cm11 (22.01.14):)

Edit to add : Downloaded and got failed to flash error.
Redownloaded and flashed fine with second download. Just mentioning this in case someone else gets the same issue.
So huge thanks to Demetris for creating this,
Big thanks to darkassasain for sorting out loki and to thoughtlesskyle for being first Guinea pig ;)

What is the status of this kernel? Should I download the kernel provided in the original post, or the one by darkassain in post #18?

Really glad to see a GPE-ish kernel finally available! Can't wait to flash it on my V500 running Mahdi! Thanks, Demetris! :)

Use the one provided by darkassain until Demetris confirms that he's updated the first post :)

Quick update, all seems well, no strange behaviour, no reboots.
I'm running mine set up as interactive /row. (it's nice to get the option for row again)
I've done no testing with this tablet yet, I'm just going to see how it goes for now.
I'm aware that it's probably not the best settings for battery but it's proved to be great for performance on my phone and my N7.
Using fauxs kernel app *

Ok guys. i think you must be kidding me.
You scream and yell you want the Gpe Source code fully working on v500 and i see no reports here and only 3 downloads.
Didn’t i ask my self why bother but i do now.
This stays close to public until further notice.
I hope you are happy.
Edit Since the previous post am been getting a lot of pm's and interest on this seems healthy.
Downloads have increased and i know lokified script needs fixing as it doesn’t work now.
So .... :D
Lets continue the gpe kernel shall we? :p
Thread re-opened.
Thanks to all xda users for their reports and support on this, i hope for the best :fingers-crossed:
Dude I've spent lest than 2h on the tablet over the last 2 weeks. Life gets in the way.;)

Check github, commits with description are pushed there. You can review them 1by1.
which branch?
to which the answer im guessing is not gpe kernel but cm11 right?

Does this kernel allow gamma adjustments?
not yet, sadly unlike the nexus devices (google exposed in kernel some of the gamma settings (which then faux exposed as using sysfs)
this all will have to be developed from scratch i believe

Running version 2. Very satisfied so far! Haven't used it enough to give any worthy comments regarding battery life, but sleep seems good. This kernel also supports flip cover! Fantastic!

Just one big but! I lost knock-on flashing the latest kernel. Anyone else who can confirm this as well? :)

I've now wiped data, system and cache, and flashed the latest release of the Mahdi ROM and 2nd version of this kernel again. Still no knock on for me. I then tried flashing back to darkassain's version found in post #18, and knock works again. However, his version doesn't support flip cover. So this is my current status:

  • Using Demetris' 2nd release gives me flip cover support, but no knock on
  • Using darkassain's version from post #18 gives me knock support, but no flip cover

The results are consistent after full wipes and flashes.
