Maybe, probably not because this is not a 100 % GPE ROM, it got mods to make it V500 compatible. Am I right Demetris?

You cant install gpe (whatever it is) unmodded due to diff partitions and locked bootloader

Demetris, I'm downloading v2 atm
If wifi doesn't work I was going to use CatLog to get a logcat for you, but I've never used it before.
Do you have a few pointers for me?
Btw the dl is taking forever (it's been nearly an hour now) so I may not get a chance to flash v2 till this evening.

With information in this thread and the GPE rom from androiduser anyone can make a working gpe rom for v500 is just a matter of time and winzip.
No time for me to chase this as the road is paved now thanks to U and me .i"ll have a look at a logcat though if you provide one.

I'll send you a catlog. So i'll install the GPE ROM V2, install logcat, wonder around the rom a little bit, and send it to you? Is that what I should do?

Well I for one truly hope you reconsider.
We need you if we are going to see this finished.
Now back to the rom.
I've just flashed back to give you an update and then I'll go back and reflash v2.
First I didn't have superuser, to use CatLog so I rebooted and flashed supersu 1.91.
I rebooted to find there were no binaries and supersu couldn't fix it.
I also tried to get into settings >security to allow unknown users so I could get some useful apps on like quick boot.
Settings kept crashing.
So at this moment in time I can't get a logcat.
As I said I'm going to reflash and try again, but I know the download is fine as I did an md5 check before I flashed the rom
I'll update you

Update ***** I've got sdk tools on the pc now.
I'm a little bit over a barrel where my pc is concerned.
Unfortunately my 4yr old daughter (backed up by her 18month old sister) has decided that my pc is hers
She's booted me off for now but once I reclaim my spot I will have a go at getting some logcats for Demetris.
I've also uploaded the first rom, WITH the wifi changes done,to Dropbox, so hopefully others can download it and see how far Demetris has got with the project.
Judging by the activity on this thread I think I may be the one who has seen the rom boot up with working wifi (and the graphical issues)

Video worked fine for me on CM using the kernel.
Now it doesn't work so good, it gets stuck if I come back to it after multitasking, but that's probably not related to the kernel as I flashed the ROM several times since then.

Release4 is not for GPE_V510_PALMAN Rom is for v500 cm11 and compatibles.
About scrambled video:
If you want to use Gpe rom you must use kernel + modules from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=49910859&postcount=109
But you will end up without wifi working although scrambled video should be fixed

I know you are pretty sick of this kernel/rom, but was the logcat of any use to you?
If not, give me a few pointers and I'll get you another.
I'm secretly hoping you won't give up on a) this project and b) this device.

Flash it only on AOSP roms.
In order to go back to stock kernel flash the rom again.

anything new on this?
i looked into the sources and palman is more polished than awifi
nearly everything is working fine with this kernel except candy crush
it force closes
i guess its a memory leak or something, but didnt have time to look into the crashlog

I would love it if this kernel was continued / improved upon. I use your kernels for my nook tablet as well. I really want (need may be too strong a word) a kernel for AOKP 4.4.4. One thing I would love to see is a little undervolt, or the ability to undervolt myself.

If not, any continued development would be greatly appreciated anyway. Gamma control does not matter to me
