bro i have installed eclipse rom with nx kernel cuz nx kernel and ur kernel the only ones OC. so i overclokced nx kernel to 2.6ghz max and 2.6 min freq and their wasnt any abnormal battery draining, i had overheat though (83C)
but that didnt drop my fps at all. it was so smooth so could you please add minum freq back as it really helps me, i first tried doing it on hktweaks app but ahahaha it didnt work so only way i know is to ask u

That's a painfully method to make a device smoth. I can't recommend to increase min_freq at all, but you can do it anyway by adding the following command in init.d script:

# set min_freq for big to 1.8 GHz
echo 1807000 > /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu4/cpufreq/user_scaling_min_freq

Furthermore you can try the following settings in A2N App:

• LMK to 64 MB
• zRam 75 % (it's unstable for now and will be stable in next build)
• all up_thresholds to min value
• touch boost to 4000 ms
• DVFS at max temp
• GPU/CPU max stable for your device

my s8 battery is swollen a little... when I'm gaming the battery temp is nearly around 40c and i use performance plus mode(all other settings are high including cpu temp 85c etc..) and battery idle is on after charging phone up to 90% (2500mah charging current). Reason why its enlarged? any fix? or how to prevent it getting enlarged further in future..

Probably because it's old and has many charge cycles, means the end of its lifespan.
Check charge cycles + real battery cap in %.
Note: if you did a reset, you need to wait 3 charge cycles for correct real capacity.

You can prolong the liefespan by using batt idle to 90 - 95 % .. right and charge temp not higher than 40 °C. Charging current maybe more safe to not go over 75 % of its capacity. Last one is just my opinion, so it doesn't mean it's 100 % right, according to my knowhow it's safe to charge a li-ion battery to max 1C means 100 % of its capacity. You can google this, there is some pretty website like "batteryuniversity" ....

Update for 2.0 Ghz little core test:

After more than 48 hours and various tests both in general use by setting the cpu set 0-3 for foreground tasks, and various benchmarks including Geekbench 4 and 5, I can say that 'at least' in my chip the frequency is 100% stable , I didn't have any reboots or crashes.


ps: using 0-3 for foregrount tasks there are general lags and performance drops, but of course I think it is due to the optimization of the use of therads and therefore it is normal.

OK, that's luck. Yeah and therefore we don't use little cores for foreground because we don't want a phone that lags like hell.

And when i touch more then 2,7ghz will reboot even it not get hot only touch 2,8ghz will reboot just like that now i has been clean install horizon rom i want to try it again maybe work

Leave big cpu 2.3ghz and select little 2.0ghz and try if you have reboots.

it worked but i put it to 2.4ghz lower then 2.3ghz lags my game but i get so many reboots... isnt a way to remove reboots? my phone wasnt overheatin but its still rebooted 3x b4 i even started the game

Then good luck to find what you have broked in your phone, if you use several scripts + any non-a2n kernel manager apps then it's no wonder and here ends the warranty lol.

Please stop to spam the thread with such bad reports, no logs and no clearly instructions how to reproduce.
First of all, do a clean installation.
Then don't install any 3rd-party kernel manager apps, (i said that already for years that it wont work stable with universal kernel manager apps)
You can use your own custom init.d scripts of course, but only if you know what you do and actually it doesn't seem so.

I don't think that the reason is fast charging ... even the fact that fast charging is enabled by default in samsung's stock kernel. If you search the web, you will find informations about specs for li-ion batteries.
There are some standard suggestions about limits like:

• max temp while charging: 45 °C
• Max charging current 1C = same as battery capacity in mAh

and this kernel / app doesn't allow you to go over those limits.
I can break those limits, but i don't do that, because i don't want to damage your batteries.

Also note that SAMSUNG gives you only 12 months warranty for the battery ... and there is a reason for this.

Swelling happens if your phone is too often in contact with water and high humidity.
Also notice that some manufacturer consideres a battery as old and "end of lifespan" if the charge cycles are over 300.
Warning: be carefully by using bloated batteries ! - As they can explode and start burning.

Battery swelling is normal on li-ion batteries, so there is no trick or tip to avoid this, but surely you can prolong by not keeping the battery for too long at 100 % or 0 %. Reducing charging current to 0.75 C and max charging temp to 40 °C.
Also you should avoid wireless charging and charging and playing games at the same time.
Maybe at least with battery IDLE enabled, but not setting charging current to the max (3000/3500 mA) and playing pubg like a dumb.

On next build you can re-enabled it then, i've already fixed it and works 100 % stable now.

I advise you to leave stock freq for the Big core, increasing it if you are not a player will serve you nothing, it only increases the consumption of battery and heat.
It makes more sense to increase Little freq to 2.0ghz if you chip support, and don't have reboots or 1.9ghz which is 100% stable.

The only setting that needs 2 - 3 minutes is the zRam size, because if you change the size it'll first decompress the swapped data and then a new size can be applied, during decompression the phone can heat up a little bit, 4 threads full load on the big CPU.

idk if this helps but after the new update zram doesnt freeze or heat phone so its has become better...

The kernel is fantastic, very fast, but how much I play and the phone overheats, dvfs starts and the phone lags a lot, for what frequency does it limit the cpu?
Now we set it to 65 degrees, up to what temperature I'm sure not to damage the phone and battery?
