yes, notification is consistent and won't go away under any condition. The problem is that it will not even let me charge the phone. whenever I connect the charger (whether the phone is on or off) the phone starts to beeping with warning of moisture in the charging port.
thank you for your concern, i will make sure to remind you later when things get smooth on your side. till then, let's see how far this phone can take me in its current condition and i hope it survives till than.hmm, that's painful indeed. Sure it's hardware issue.
I never had this notification and that's why it's difficult to develop an hack/workaround for broken hardware if my own phone is not affected from this bug.
I'm not sure, but probably it would require to disable water detection as early as possible or even better to build a kernel with water detection disabled entirely. The latter one is even an hack from me since original samsung sources didn't allow to disable it entirely.
Also i don't know if it's dangerous to force charge a phone with such an issue. For instance i would recommend to not charge with more than 1800 mA for just in case, safety first, lol.
I'm resuming programming, but actually i'm busy with my own notebook, basically i've upgraded to "linux lite 5.4" and the video-driver stopped working, now i've to port that to the newer Xorg version 1.20.
Once that works properly (and other stuffs like suspend which is literally always broken on every distro) i'll continue the work for the S8 here and i'll build test kernel with water detection disabled.
I've uploaded a test kernel for testing the ability to force disable moisture detection for both USB and Jack port !hy dev. my phone(s8+) is constantly warning me with moisture detection massage and it has annoyed me. i bought the kernel for this specific reason to disable the moisture detection warning. i ticked the option in the kernel manager to disable water detection, but unfortunately, the moisture detection warning still persists.
any help will be appricated.
I've enabled almost all USB 2.0 / 3.0 ethernet 10/100/1000 Mbit/s adapters from Realtek, ASIX and others. - So i hope it should recognize your Realtek adapter now. Let me know if it works properly.
