I just installed r17 on my OP6T using FKM. I am running the latest release of Lineageos 19.1... The phone doesnt boot with this. It doenst even bootloop, it just doesnt boot. I couldnt get to recovery, just to fastbot mode. From there i reflashed lineage recovery, which resolved the issue (since it oberwrights the boot partition). I tried the flashing the kernel again with the same result. Cant atach any crash reports, since the phone doesnt even start to boot the OS. Hope this gets fixed soon, until then i will use stock lineage kernel...
thanks for your report.

our pre-release went fine, so I'm not quite sure what went wrong.

I'll look at it tomorrow

//edit:

new build is up and confirmed working!

Hello,

nothing worth mentioning, exept that the touch_boost toggle is available again. It's set to enabled by default for a reason: Powerhal depends on it and the CPU gets stuck at high frequencies when it is disabled on Android 11 custom ROMs. But users want full control, so here we go...

Enjoy!

Changelog:
  • Compiled with mcd clang v15.0.0 and LLD Linker
  • Merge AnyKernel3 changes
  • Merge google/common; v4.9.312 up to v4.9.317
  • Merge CAF tag up to 'LA.UM.10.3.r1-01700-sdm845.0' - [device and wifi driver]
  • Bring back touch_boost [msm_performance] toggle
  • Misc clean up

Notes:

  • Two-in-One kernel image installer (OxygenOS / custom ROM)
  • OxygenOS 11: Network speed meter isn't working, most probably because of incomplete OnePlus kernel sources

Download:

Github: mcd r17

FKM Updater configs: OxygenOS / custom ROM

Installation:

  • First time installation: Flash via any supported kernel manager or custom recovery (twrp)
  • Updating: Flash on top of any previous mcd-kernel
  • Note: Consider a clean ROM flash if you are coming from any other custom kernel!

I installed r17 on top of r16 and now I am unable to boot. I am stuck in the welcome screen and phone is unable to enter into recovery or fastboot. All I get is warning screen from qualcomm for unlocked boot loader. I am on OOS, last version of OOS A11. Need help.

I am able to go to fastboot after few retries but unable to flash TWRP image, getting a crash dump whenever I try to do so. Is there a way I could get to boot up once in recovery else last resort is to go to MSM tool. Any help appreciated.

Reboot to fastboot mode, then boot twrp using fastboot
fastboot boot twrp.img
Then do to advanced in twrp, choose adb sideload and sideload new r17 version
adb sideload r17.zip
This work for me

Already tried boot into twrp image, I get crashdump on boot. When I try to flash twrp image it gives me error invalid partition. Have tried switching slots but nothing worked so far. Seems the boot partition got corrupted, don't know how to recover from that keeping data intact. Are you into OOS or custom ROM.

Boot into fastboot and flash a stock boot.img for your device and ROM via PC and command window. That should do the trick.

I can share a stock OOS 11.1 boot.img if you like, but enchilada only

Thx. I have tried that also, flashed fajita stock boot image from last A11 update but I keep getting "unable to write to partition a/b" error in fastboot. Unfortunately I had to rollback to stock using MSM and loose data in the process and restore to past backup. It's a lesson learnt so wanted to know what exactly went wrong.

Has anyone tried r16 on android 10?

I'm currently using RR 8.7.2 with mcd r7. I would love to try r16 but I just wanted to confirm before trying

Let's call this a mini review!
Just to confirm, the reupload of R17 boots up fine and runs like what I'm used to with the MCD kernel. Consistently smooth and nicely improves performance by a bit. Battery life has been fine for me as well. I haven't experienced any issues either.
What else can I say, it's MCD, fast and stable as always. Throw great support and a dev who's always open to feedback and suggestions on top of that and it just can't go wrong.
Thanks for the continued support @mcdachpappe !

Latest build works great on CRdroid unofficial 12.1, EvoX, AICP 17.1, LineageOS 19.1 official, CalyxOS. All on fajita. Release prior worked great as well. There was one release that had an issue and it was quickly pulled and resolved. The way I recommend flashing is through Franco Kernel manager. First back up your stock boot image from the kernel manager app, then flash. This way you can monitor the flash results and if something goes wrong, which if it does is likely due to some sort of modification you've done to the device already and not due to the kernel itself, you have your stock boot image backed up so you can just reflash it through TWRP or fastboot.

    • Flash kernel .zip via any kernel manager app or custom recovery

    Update:
    • Flash your desired mcd-kernel version on top of your existing mcd-kernel

    Known issues:
    • OxygenOS:
      • OOS 11.*: Network speed indicators are not working on any custom kernel
    • Custom ROMs:
      • Gestures might not work on some custom ROMs as this kernel uses LineageOS gesture handling

    Troubleshooting:
Try one or more of these steps prior flashing this kernel if you run into issues:
    • Delete your kernel-manager-app data
    • Dirty flash your current ROM / Flash stock boot.img
